N.J. Lottery featuring Frank Sinatra on new instant ticket

New Jersey LotteryNew Jersey Lottery: N.J. Lottery featuring Frank Sinatra on new instant ticket

The 'Sinatra' Instant Ticket game is a recent addition to the N.J. lottery.  Utilizing the Frank Sinatra name and likeness, the game is available in about 6,000 retailers across the state, according to a N.J. lottery news release.

Prizes range from $2 to $5,000 to the $30,000 jackpot. Those who don't win can submit their non-winning ticket into the Sinatra Second Chance Drawing. The winner would earn a 'Sinatra-style weekend' VIP package at the Borgata in Atlantic City.

Dominick Demarco, public information officer for the N.J. lottery, said the game has a great New Jersey angle, since Sinatra is widely known as a Hoboken native.

"We're always looking at different products in the lottery and this idea caught our eye," Demarco said. "He's an entertainer who appeals to many generations."

Instant Ticket was in charge of acquiring licensing rights from the Sinatra family, Demarco said.

Hoboken city clerk Jimmy Farina, a longtime Sinatra aficionado, said the game serves as a tribute to the man rather than a cheapening of his legacy.

"I don't think this diminishes his reputation," Farina said. "He was a gambler himself. He would've wanted half of that $30,000 cut."

That is crazy. I wouldn't mind having a few tickets just as a collectors item.

Couldn't they give him a game with a better payout like a Win 4 Life???

      I'd be pissed.

"...a chance to push everything aside, the circumstances that've controlled our lives, and do it our way now. Good, bad or otherwise. You'll maybe get lost in it, tied up in it a little bit, but if you work your way through that the real you shows up, I think. Maybe what's at your core deep down, maybe that comes out. Maybe that's what it's about." Mike Pace

They should have made the prize 1 or 2 million with a slogan,

If I win this one I'll do things My Way!

            Wink

Those who run the lotteries love it when players look for consistency in something that's designed not to have any.

            Lep

There is one and only one 'proven' system, and that is to book the action. No matter the game, let the players pick their own losers.
