Unclaimed Pa. lottery prize worth $50K to expire

Pennsylvania LotteryPennsylvania Lottery: Unclaimed Pa. lottery prize worth $50K to expire

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. — Time is running out for a Pennsylvania Lottery winner to claim a $50,000 prize.

The winning Quinto ticket from Dec. 10, 2009, was sold at Jean's in Schuylkill County.

Lottery officials noted Monday that the ticket and prize expire one year from the date of the drawing. That's in less than two weeks.

The ticket correctly matched all five numbers drawn in exact order: 6-6-4-3-1. The prize is $50,000, minus 25 percent in federal taxes.

Expired prizes remain in the lottery fund. They're used to support programs benefiting older Pennsylvanians.

I do not think that the winner will come forward to claim his/her prize, definetly he/she is a mong the many lottery player's who forget to check their lottery tickets.May he/she as write badly needs $ 50,000 to make a difference in his/her life.

How can play lottery and fail to check if I had won?

I strongly suggest that all un-claimed lottery prizes should be contributed to charity..

      I Agree!

Since we don't know the age of the individual or other pertinent cirumstances, the following may be some possibilities:

          1.  The person moved from Pennsylvania and relocated elsewhere.

          2.  The person may be physically or mentally incapacitated.

          3.  The person may have lost the ticket and is searching frantically, providing that he or she has been following lottery updates (and #2 isn't the issue).

          4.  The person passed away.

          5.  The dog ate the ticket by mistake.

See Ya!-- Bye, bye!  When you win, may you glow as brightly as theSun Smiley

I wonder if that was a quick-pick, or if the player wanted to play a date and forgot that April has only 30 days.

Today's winning 3-ball is going to be a number between 000 and 999.

In a lot of states, lotteries benefit education. That makes the REAL winners the only people who can't play!
