I watched that drawing that night and was ticked that it was so close to my 4376. When I checked the lottery post results it had posted the wrong number. I then went to the MDSL official site. Not only did they post the 4 digit wrong, but they had the 3 digit 115 posted on for midday and night.

        What a mess.

115 didn't even win that day in Maryland. The Pick-3 numbers were 394 midday and 556 evening.

I had some trouble following the story, so I watched the lottery drawing on the Maryland Lottery website (under MDLottery TV Evening Drawings) on the state lottery's website. The number was 3574. Two other websites that give lottery results for the entire U.S. still have 4157 as the winning number.

Today's winning 3-ball is going to be a number between 000 and 999.

In a lot of states, lotteries benefit education. That makes the REAL winners the only people who can't play!

Your right, it was 556. I played 115 and had that in mind when I was posting.

          Sorry about that.

            Why there was a mistake?

              Why there was a mistake?

Because there are no consequences for incompetence in liberal institutions like government or the mainstream news media. They get promoted.

It's like trying to explain why libs hold rallies and candlelight vigils to stop mass murderering, butchering maniac rapists from being executed.

              Liberalism is a brain defect.

Wow, again? First the paper, now the website.  People may think it's funny, but it's not. It never happened to me, but I would not want to experience that.

I feel sorry for Donna that she didn't win the lottery's bigger prizes yet.  She shouldn't be paid what she's attempting to force though.  If she and her husband are out of work, perhaps they won't be able to afford playing as often as they used to from now on.  Desperation and gambling/chance taking are an unhappy mix, though quite common worldwide.

Anyhow, you are right, Simba774, it would be a shame to lose the convenience, but perhaps lottery #s should cease to be publicized in writing (in newspapers, non-official websites, etc.).  Perhaps the only way to 'display/advertise' from now on is listing the winning numbers by providing a link to the video of the #s being drawn ... of course, this would be an inconvenience for folks that don't have easy access to the Internet in their home or nearby library, etc. (also, it still leaves error for accidentally linking to the wrong draw date or time ... continuing the opportunity for a non-keen observer to miss that they aren't viewing the drawing that their ticket is for).

"Potential winners," it is best to wait with 'final verifying' at least TWO business days before rushing to fill out the claim form in regards to any lottery wins.  Even if each state only makes two errors per year, this procedural would save a lot of time [not frustration though, no remedy for that ... it's an irrevocable aspect of the games].
