First of all,

catching on to a pattern...

Its like in baseball...well i notice this pitcher is throwin meatballs down the plate...it would be unfair of me to swing...WTF!!

Or...Mark Mcgwire is on steroids, it would be unfair for me to throw him a ball, he might not swing...let me give him a meatball so he can break the home run record...and then congress can pardon him.

There's a chance that there's a law protecting casinos in case of this sort of mistake, but I'd think they're SOL.

I dont know what SOL is,  i also dont know what SMH is...

but i am sure they have INSURANCE...so not only do they not want to pay out...but they want to not pay out AND get the insurance money.

I blame it all on NUCKY.

In this story there was allegation of betting over the limit...this could be enforced.

Thats why I dont buy chinese food, they are always plotting strang things in the kitchen.

I only buy the fortune cookies.Jester Laugh

Not sure who you're replying to.

SOL= <snip> out of luck.

SOL= short on luck.

SMH= scratching my head.

Are you talking about Nucky Johnson the king of atlantic city through the 40s, 50s,and 60s ?

    Interesting. So, in theory, if someone came up with the strategy to win third prize in PB or MM every now and then, states can file a claim against that person for figuring this out?

      So, a casino (which typically makes hundreds of millions in profits each year) is suing gamblers who won because the casino dropped the ball & used unshuffled decks?  And, they're claiming that the winners were in cahoots despite them not knowing each other?  Good luck on that one.  Sounds more like a potential public relations nightmare for them to me...

          A card game not shuffled and playing? I don't know baccarat, but cards normally get shuffled. I'd say that the croupier wasn't honest and the casino has to pay.

            In real life his name was nucky johnson, don't know why they called him thompson in the movie.

              Ah yes, a truly Happy Ending! (check Washington Post, Press of Atlantic City dot com for details of the lawsuit being dropped by the GN against the gamblers)

              Just the fact that the Billionaire owner of the Nugget is acknowledging these gamblers 'beat the house' in the ultimate gamblers dream makes me want to go there. Plus he has commo sense over the lawyers and judges: pay the gamblers and go after the real culprit: the card manufacturer.

              I will point out that I would've never jumped strait from a $10 bet to $5000. Even if not cheating it is way too suspicious.
              However given that I've never been in that situation, let's say I did up my bet that much. I would most likely drop the bet again later or at least lose a hand or 2 on purpose.

                9 ppl. were fired over this incident,

                all supervisor level and above, no dealers.

                not just sour grapes, but if the chips are not honered, could also be bad P.R.

                this casino has been doing pooly for years, I know, my sister has been working there since 85

                Its called the golden nugget now, but it just got that name a year ago when a new owner took over.

                It used to be called Trump marina and before that trump castle.

                Yup avoiding bad P.R.

                the guy is smart, no wonder he is rich !
