Rumors were wrong
Update: complete raw video of press conference added
By Todd Northrop
Contrary to rumors swirling in the media and on Web sites this morning, the New Jersey Lottery announced this morning at a press conference that the winning Powerball ticket for Saturday's $338.3 million jackpot was sold at a liquor store in Passaic.
New Jersey Lottery Executive Director Carole Hedinger announced Monday morning at a 10:00 am press conference that Eagle Liquors, located at 126 Passaic Avenue in Passaic, New Jersey, sold the winning ticket.
The liquor store will receive a bonus of $10,000 for selling the winning ticket.
When Hedinger announced the location of the winning ticket, an audible gasp could be heard among the media attending the event. Probably as they were face-palming themselves for spending so much time early this morning reporting on the false rumors that the ticket was sold in Bordentown.
The New Jersey Lottery does not know who the winner is at this point, since the winner has not come forward yet.
After a brief statement about where the winning ticket was sold, Hedinger fielded various questions from the media, mainly covering topics such as the ability (or not) of the winner to remain anonymous, and tax issues.
The annuity value of the jackpot is $338.3 million, although most winners choose the lump-sum cash payout.
The approximate cash value of the jackpot is $211 million. According to Hedinger, the federal taxes withheld from the cash payout will be $52,750,000 and New Jersey state taxes withheld will be $6,330,000, leaving a net payout of $151,920,000.

Well that proves "You never know". Place looks like its abandoned. Looked on the NJ lotto site and i see nothing about them selling a winning ticket. Very odd.
WOW!!! Maybe the owner will remodel with his/her bonus for selling the winning ticket
Thanks Todd.
HRH Todd beats the official sites all the time. He still wouldn't share his secret.
Thanks for sharing the map Ronnie!
lol. The sign looks like its a printed banner hanging there.
It just hit now hit the MSN front page.
Hope the winner is smart enought to get his or her affairs in order before cashing the ticket, and what ever you do don't hold a press confrence.
for all of you in favor of anonominity and that gun totin oklahomaite comes to mind, you seem awful curious about who the winner is. i guess unless you win you want it publicized. kind of a double standard.
I think I will enjoy waving to the crowd and smiling for the camera.
I hope it was somebody gettin' a half pint for his back pocket.
I got no problem with a winner staying anonmous, in fact whenever I see a winner having a news confrence and and holding interviews like they are famous I cringe and say a little prayer for them and their family that they don't end up cursed by the win.
Welcome to the LP Tyler
Thanks my sister, Black and Gold here!
Or some wine
I'm going out on a limb with saying, I think this win was right on time! Congrats to the winner!
Can a half pint fit in that there pocket?

* Whats the chance that the owner of the liquor store was from Haiti and sending his/ hers portion of the winnings to help the family back on the island is admirable.
As long as it ain't them there skinny jeans... Some good ol wranglers or levis I bet it could
Can't say you're not curious as to what type of person/family won... I'll sleep just fine at night f I don't know, but i like the stories
Can a half pint fit in that there pocket?
Hell yeah, easy.
RL Burnside even had an album titled "Ass Pocket o' Whiskey".
So many stories in the media are claiming that this was the "6th largest jackpot ever". I don't know who came up with that, but it seems that someone made this wrong claim, and the rest of the media continues to parrot it.
For the record, it is the 8th-largest annuity jackpot, and the 7th-largest cash value.
Here are the top 10 of each:
Top 10 Annuity Jackpots (March 23 Powerball jackpot in bold)
Top 10 Cash Values (March 23 Powerball jackpot in bold)
They fit fine in my overalls, heh,heh,heh...
I ain't the skinny jeans type so I don't know about that (where's jimmy?).
They do fit in Wranglers and Lees and probably most anything else though, I'd reckon.
Thanks for the info Todd
LOL now ridge you know you can't comment about a song with out a link
Thanks, Todd.
