Money tithing is an erroneous practice. It is not Biblical since all tithes in the Bible consisted of agricultural products in Israel and was only taken in by the Levite priests. Money was not tithed in the Bible. Churches outside of Israel are wrong to preach tithing. And the Levitical order (that tribe that could not receive land in promised land) does not exist ANYWHERE today. Ask your pastor who preaches money tithing who owns his house and car! If he says he does, then leave that church immediately because you are talking to a false prophet.

      AMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!Banana

Good lord, thought I was the only one on L.P. who did not believe in tithing!!

When the jackpot gets big you often see postings about giving tithe to the church.

I stopped tithing a looong time ago after I learned the TRUTH about it and all of those Pimp Preachers.

But even if you do not believe in tithing, 10% is a fair amount to donate to charity.

I don't believe in tithing because thinking that God needs our money is a sheer blasphemy. He doesn't need it.

And I am a firsthand witness of the corruptions of churches.

Just dawned on me that this "church" which is run out of a high school gym, he might be one of the guys running it or started it and he thinks by doing this he can evade paying taxes.

I wonder if he has a wife because if he does and he really is giving it all away then he might have a problem because half of that money is hers and she might not be on the same page as him so he might have a divorce in his future.

What he's doing is very rare, too bad the system isn't set up do he wins, gives it all away, and has a charitable deduction to write off all the taxes.

Those who run the lotteries love it when players look for consistency in something that's designed not to have any.

There is one and only one 'proven' system, and that is to book the action. No matter the game, let the players pick their own losers.

..Which reminds me CT- whatever happened to Brother Roy or someone to that effect who " swore an oath of poverty" and ended up winning Millions- if l am not mistaken, he too said that he was donating to the " Order",,, l doubt he was going to give them the entire enchilada though.Seemed like a nice guy though....

Noise-gate, yours is a point of common confusion.  When Roy was with the order of brothers [as an official religious brother] he had to keep the vow ... that was the agreement.  The agreement went on to read that if Roy chose to leave the order, the vow was hencefore no longer in place.

Thus, when Roy left the order of brothers, a few years prior to the jackpot win that you wrote of, he was no longer under any vows.

If he was really holy, then instead of donating it all to one church, he would donate 1 million to fifteen different churches.

Because of styles, people are separated.  They are not united together because styles became law.  But the original founder of the style started out with hypothesis - but now it has become the gospel truth.  Like boxing or fencing JKDL is a step by step project in which each maneuver must be repeated many times.  Empty your mind, be formless, shapeless, like water.  Now you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup.  Put it into a teapot, it becomes the teapot.  Now water can flow, or surge or drip or crash.  Be water my friend.
