LOLAfter I win I am going to hook up with a female drug dealer named Ranch Dressing and spend millions getting her out of jail!

You can do anything if you put your mind into it. The sky is the limit! Cool

With the recent huge jackpots, this basically says people are unhappy with their jobs and position in life.  We're grasping for straws looking for instant change.  I still continue to play.

They know @ work that I will donate to get our new CVICU built for the kids where I work.  Jennifer Lawrence, Louisville native, donated $2 million to jump start this.

Point is don't make assumptions, not everyone is unhappy, they have dreams and visions and this is one of mine.

      Mr./Ms. Bluedog101,

Please help me understand. Several of you, here, are hoping for an even higher jackpot.
I just wish someone would win it NOW (meaning: on the next draw).
Some are even hoping for the big $Billy to roll around again.

What's the purpose of hoping for an even larger jackpot?

I need my one mil. now, and I'll be set. I'll even stop coming here.

Please, someone just win it, this Wednesday.
Be careful when choosing your numbers if you are a new player, and you use the slips.
Think hard about the numbers you plan to play. I seem to be getting visions about the
number 3 popping up on Wednesday, like 3 or 13 or 30 throughout the winning ticket.

      Mr. Groppo

      Mr Groppo,

I cant speak for everyone here, but for myself, the chance i see as  next to impossible. so the excitement generated by the larger pots is something to enjoy. so i like to see bigger pots.  sure i buy  a ticket, or a share in an entry. and 1 mill 40 mill 500 mill they are all out of the realms of reality. so im along for the ride.

      Da goose.

If you haven't heard the news...they changed the matrix for Mega Millions too. The odds are almost as insane as Powerball odds.

PB odds are 1 in 292,201,338.00 and Mega's odds are 1 in 258,890,850

Yep, I know, but I am looking at  all the prize levels .

When PB doubled the odds for second prize they did NOT double the second prize.

The odds vs prizes vs ticket cost are better on MM the way I play the game.

When you think about it, a hundred dollars spent on either games with their odds is likely to only return $8-$9.

I Agree! Finally, someone who's using their noggin. As you say, this topic has been discussed almost to death and there is no point in rehashing pros and cons, and so I won't.

But what I can't grasp is why anyone actually feels the money would be safer from scammers in annuity form. It's almost as if they think that money not yet disbursed is in some kind of magical vault where liens, suits, scams and indebtedness don't apply. The tragedy and the irony is that those are the people who usually end up selling off their future annuity payments and filing for bankruptcy simply because they don't understand how things work.

Funny, big time financial gurus from Wallstreet recommend you don't follow the herd taking the lump sum or you might end up broke and it makes sense.  If you don't have the financial background at the time you claim, it is silly to take the lump sum.  You will most likely live a life of stress, lose your money to the wolves in the financial and law department, divorce, get in debt, killed, used and all those goodies.  Most people who think they know what to do with their jackpot money here don't have a clue what they are talking about, unless they have experience handling big money.  That's reality.

"this topic has been discussed almost to death and there is no point in rehashing pros and cons, and so I won't."

Don't do it but this is a forum.  It's called conversation.  Many people, even new members, want to talk about it, dream about it, whatever.  People talk all related to the Jackpot on these threads.  Apparently making a comment about lump sum or annuity is not the cool thing to do on these forums because ole members have heard/seen all about it.

"But what I can't grasp is why anyone actually feels the money would be safer from scammers in annuity form."

                    Certainly I haven't claimed that.

"The tragedy and the irony is that those are the people who usually end up selling off their future annuity payments and filing for bankruptcy simply because they don't understand how things work."

                    That's not true.
