DENVER — A pair of Colorado siblings won a collective $250,000 when they played the same lottery numbers in the same Powerball drawing.
Thinh D. of Denver told Colorado Lottery officials she chose numbers that she felt were lucky and her faith in the numbers inspired her brother, Phu D., to play a near-identical ticket.
The only difference between the two lottery tickets was Thinh chose the Powerplay option, making her jackpot $200,000 to her brother's $50,000.
The siblings said they bought their tickets at different locations Saturday — Thinh bought hers at a Shamrock 99 store, while Phu bought his from King Soopers.
The winning numbers for Saturday night's drawing were 9, 19, 51, 55, and 62, with Powerball number 14. The Power Play number was 4.
Do you have to ask: If it's worth the $1 for Power Play!
The Answer is: A resounding: Yes!
Welcome to America and to her equal opportunity Power Ball game!
I looked on the Search box here at Lottery Post and found "Record Power Ball lottery jackpot claimed by 8 meat plant winners". February 22, 2006 Quang Dao 56 and Dung Tran 34 were winners along with six others.
Nice Happy Story: Congratulations to this Family
And some say faith doesn't go along way ..
"she chose numbers that she felt were lucky"
Taking her destiny into her own hands instead of letting a computer pick random numbers for her worked out very well for this lady. Congratulations to her and her brother.
Wow what a difference it made right there.
Yes and yes again. The cost of a cup of coffee for the potential to really jack-up one's winnings. Won't mention the one state where you can't or Megaplier either!
Are they from Vietnam?? Just curious, could care less one way or the other.
So happy for the twins though I find it kind of ironic both didn't do Powerplay.
Does sound like it B. * Short story- At one of the stores l buy my tickets at, the owner was telling me that it was so bad back there during the Khmer rouge that they would round people up, direct them to dig these huge holes in the ground & when they were large enough, they would shoot the diggers and simply cover up the holes. I feel for these people because they for the most part have overcome tremendous odds. I support Vietnamese stores whenever l can, they one of my favorite places to buy my tickets at...l know l am repeating myself, but hey.
Congrats to the winners!
Yup there Vietnamese. Congrats to them.
