If world events have got you down, maybe the rising Powerball jackpot is just the thing to lift your spirits and your dreams.
For just the second time in 2017, a Powerball jackpot has exceeded $300 million and has entered into the top 25 US jackpots of all time. In fact, Wednesday's Powerball drawing is inching close to the $400 million mark.
The new Powerball jackpot is currently cresting at $375 million for the Wednesday drawing, ranking as the 18th-largest US lottery jackpot of all time. It was achieved after no winning tickets were sold for Saturday night's $338 million grand prize.
The lump-sum cash payout value of Wednesday's Powerball jackpot is $235.4 million — the 14th-largest cash value ever recorded in United States lottery history. (See top 25 annuity and cash values below.)
Players looking to calculate what they would receive after the initial federal and state tax withholdings can find it all pre-calculated for each Powerball jurisdiction on the Jackpot Analysis page at USA Mega, a web site devoted to the Powerball and Mega Millions multi-state lottery games.
The mammoth prize up for grabs on Wednesday is the result of 18 consecutive draws without a winner. The run-up started as a $40 million prize on April 5th.
The last major Powerball jackpot that was won was a $155.2 million grand prize drawn on Mar. 22, 2017, but the prize has not yet been claimed. It was sold at the Pewaukee Corner Pump, located at 1194 Capitol Drive in Pewaukee, Wisconsin.
Although in-store cameras have spotted the woman who purchased the ticket in March, she has not yet been identified. Wisconsin has a 180-day expiration period for lottery tickets, meaning the prize must be claimed before mid-September or else the ticket will become worthless.
Players should note that jackpot amounts are conservative estimates provided by the lotteries, and are often somewhat higher by the time the drawing occurs. This happened in Saturday's drawing, which was estimated to be $337 million, but ended up as a $338 million grand prize by the time all proceeds were counted right before draw time Saturday night.
The winning numbers for Saturday, Jun. 3, 2017, were 3, 9, 21, 41, and 54, with Powerball number 25. The Power Play number was 4.
Even though nobody won the jackpot Saturday, 4 lucky players matched the first 5 numbers for a $1,000,000 prize: 2 from Florida, 1 from New York, and 1 from Ohio.
Only one of the the winning second-prize tickets — one of the tickets sold in Florida — was purchased with the Power Play option. That lucky Florida ticket-holder will have their prize automatically doubled to $2 million.
Power Play is available in all Powerball jurisdictions except California for an extra $1 per play. Power Play increases the size of any non-jackpot prize that a player wins. Second prize is doubled to $2 million, and all prizes lower than that are multiplied by the Power Play number drawn that evening.
The fixed nature of the prize increase offered in Power Play is not compatible with California's mandated pari-mutuel payouts. By law, California awards all prizes on a pari-mutuel basis, meaning the prizes will change each drawing based on the number of tickets sold and the number of tickets that won at each prize level.
Also in the Saturday night drawing, 41 tickets matched four white numbers plus the Powerball and won $50,000. Of those tickets, 8 were purchased with the Power Play option, increasing the prize to $200,000, and 6 of the tickets were sold in California, where the prize was worth $15,964 this drawing.
Following the Saturday drawing, the Powerball annuity jackpot estimate was raised $37 million from its previous amount of $338 million. The cash value was raised by $25.7 million from its previous amount of $209.7 million.
The next Powerball drawing will take place Wednesday night at 10:59 pm Eastern Time.
A complete list of prizes available for matching various numbers can be found on the Powerball Drawing Detail page at USA Mega, as well as on the Powerball Prize Payouts page at Lottery Post.
Powerball is now played in 44 states, plus the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Drawings are Wednesdays and Saturdays at 10:59 p.m. Eastern Time. Tickets cost $2 each.
Powerball lottery results are published within minutes of the drawing at USA Mega (www.usamega.com). The USA Mega Web site provides lottery players in-depth information about the United States's two biggest multi-state lottery games, Mega Millions and Powerball.
Top 25 United States lottery jackpots of all time

Not the #1 Record, but More Than Enough!
How about 10 billion dollars tax free and followed by yearly 11% tax free interests?
Good luck to all players!!!
Good luck to all LP members and staff!!
A sole Californian winner would receive a check for $176,550,000.00 More taxes will still be owed on that amount.
I guess taxes would be a favorite topic of discussion amongst all your new friends at the Country Club.
Thank You, Todd, for this Top 25 list.
I can actually empty my bank account and buy that boy with a pipe!
HERE WE GO.......
wake me when it breaks 450 million .......
sneaks off to get a couple tickets
I am ready to win it. No problemo with $375 M I L L I ON DOLLARS lol. I already know where I will be the next day after the funds hit my bank account.
Good Luck for everyone with a ticket, it could be any one of us.
^This.
Considering what it last sold for plus inflation - I dont think you will be able to afford it even if you win Wed.
I'm officially convinced that the multi-state lottery is FRAUDULENT AND FAKE. It's just like the W.W.E. for entertainment purposes only!!!! Happy Dreaming????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????a fool see what a fool wants to see!
Officially convinced? No doubt by a sentinel in a trench coat, collars upturned on a dark and stormy night huh? The only thing you could make out was the squinted eyes reflected in his face as he took a deep pull on his while standing under a dim lit streetlight? He has paid multiple visits to others here. Don't take him serious Pirate.
Bought a physical ticket @ 0525 before going to work. Bought one for a co-worker and put it inside a piece of printer paper with a note: Time to win the effen lottery; well I used the f bomb.
The biggest gripe I have with PB is PP; it does not mirror MM. The prize stays $2 million regardless of the powerplay # which I believe was 4 this time. MM would give $4 million for that. Anyway anything @ this rate would be most graciously accepted.
About f'ing time, indeed.
In October you can play MM instead, maybe it will take over, and then PB can make it's game even less attractive again. It's a never-ending cycle/race to the bottom.
Good luck, I'm sure you'd find many uses.
The write-up says it's been 21 draws without a winner, I believe that's the same amount of roll-overs Gloria's jackpot took to build, which was $120M if I remember correctly.
We all like to dream. I do too. That's why I buy one ticket for PB. One for MM. One for Texas Lotto. One for Texas 2 Step...(sometimes more than one for that game when the jackpot gets up there).
Where else can a person take a dollar (or two), and have a chance, however small, at millions? Or even $1 million.
Don't go crazy spending 10, 20, 30 bucks on tix. It takes but one ticket. Have fun with it.
Correct and MM goes up to $2 in October. I honestly believe one day they'll merge and just be one big lottery 4X/week.
Bought tickets Freitag in Ohio and gave away one without Powerplay...it would be nice if that is the winning ticket.
Yeah. I was just thinking the same thing. Combine the games and have 3 or 4 draws a week.
I give it about 18 months, maybe 2 years.
I honestly don't see why they wouldn't merge, little by little they are becoming the same game.
First PB became more expensive but had better odds, now MM is getting as expensive and even harder to win, what is the point?
Ohio, lucky! They allow anonymous claims.
I'll sleep even later...consider it when it's in the top 5 !
But no multiplier !
l love this kind of heat. Plain and simple.
It's time to do math with this lottery. As far as the last draw I knew it was going to go up. Give it till Fathers day weekend and it will be hit.
Why merge? There is no benefit to it. People like choice - even if it is negligible. Look at the number of scratchers states like TX and California put out. It stimulates sales.
It's early. I misread your comment as: It's time to do meth with this lottery.
Well yes. Usually I will start looking at the pyramid and see what there is and pairs and stuff. That one weekend I posted 4+1. That's not bad and for being on this site just over 3 yrs. That says something. I sure do hope a member does hit on this site, however chances are if someone does don't mention of it.
The write up is incorrect it is the 19th draw, the run started on 5th April.
I bought my tickets. The numbers dont look great. But none of my great looking numbers win so maybe these will. I'd be more than happy win MM or SuperLottery. I can enjoy my life and stay in obscurity --just the way I like it.
Well for some reason the numbers 24 and 42 stick out in my mind. I need to look at lottery pyramid.
As long as it's not 1 2 3 4 5 PB 6 I wouldn't worry.
Was it a QP?
It always feels strange when all the numbers are low.
I'd like the see the hairball this forum would cough up if the winning numbers were 1-2-3-4-5 PB 6
and jackpot rolled over yet again jejejeje
I like a wide spread and not numbers in the 70s which is dumb since numbers in the 70s do win. I use to pick my own numbers but no more. They say whether you pick them or QP, the chances are almost identical with QPs having a very slight edge. I dont mind low numbers, tho.
I bet a few thousand people would have that combination.
It would be a sight to see for sure.
I prefer higher numbers though I realize they all have the same probability. Anything above from 50 up feels safer. Silly, I know.
It will be won this wednesday.....calm down all. No billion dollar draw...
Timing would be great for a MM JP win the night before, as well. However, I have seen zero news coverage on this PB JP yet. Not even GMA, which is usually first to talk about big JPs.
" I have seen zero news coverage on this PB JP yet." Wait until the price goes up to $2.00, it will be quieter than a graveyard..IMO.
.
Yes, it's more than enough.
It would change me to do good things, for a change.
("it would change me to do good things, for a change"?)
.
Be sure to tell all yo' frinz to go out and git tickets fo' demselves.
And good luck to all who'll play.
Especially me, as I will do some good things, if I win it all.
If I'm just a $1 million winner, I'll at least be able to relocate
and control my depression a bit (even though Los Angeles is crowded like nobody's business).
Yes, I said Los Angeles. I'm big on sunny days - not this East Coast garbage.
Sunny on some days, usually cloudy days, but always humid.
I need LA weather, like you just don't know.
Mr. Groppo
.
What was it that finally convinced you? I say it's real, and not fraudulent.
Please, give it a chance. You may never know. you may never know. you may never know
But I see you've only contributed 37 posts. I would take it then, that maybe you're a newer player to the game. I know what it's like to be anxious and hope for the doggone win, week after week.
It's going to cost some shekels, OK? But you have to do it.
I'll take it for an early Father's Day!
It's tv. Yes it's entertaining purposes and how about the casinos? Everything is computerized. Everything is random. Comparing this to the wwe. lol.
How about 1 2 3 4 6 PB 5
Don't worry about this run going any higher then what It's going to be this Wednesday, because I'm calling It, It's Mine
Funny how it's always a newbie that comes on here and right off their first few posts are always about the lottery being fixed.
I get that the new trend is to claim something is fake simply because one doesn't like the outcome/report/facts, but fortunately, reality isn't about opinions.
MUSL exists, is independently audited and has had verified winners who aren't associated with MUSL. The claim of fake therefore doesn't apply, even with your ubiquitous use of all CAPS.
It IS for entertainment purposes only. All gambling is. What else could it possibly be classified as? It is only a game after all. Winning MUSL doesn't require skill or education. It isn't work. There is no religious component. It always was and always will be solely for entertainment purposes only.
Why would you find that distressing or even revelatory??????????????????
However, I'd love to know why you're 'officially convinced' that it's fraudulent. I have a feeling I'll find the answer highly entertaining.
Every person, every visit could be the one. The dream killer, the “if I can’t have it no one can” can’t do visionary. So he squints and watches the shadows reflect upon the walls in various layers of gray and black. Another cigarette is lit. The orange glow of the flame flares to red as it is fueled with oxygen from the drawn inhalation. The pack is strewn to the ground. The label lands right side up just within the reach of the streetlight. How ironic, a brand once popular but now as rare as the jackpot ticket itself. Lucky Strikes. Rare but not unobtainable. Not take him seriously; seriously, how could Pirate not; someone is lurking...
Well played Sir.
Got to play this and Mega Millions for free. Found a tossed $5 scratcher in the trash @ Pilot gas station this morning. PB/PP & MM/MP=$5.00
This could be your Lucky Day, Bleudog101!!!
Lucky money!
Let's hope so.
The Powerball lottery just got some local news coverage here this morning. Host said might be time to jump onto the PB bandwagon, it is set for $375 Million tonight.
Got my two tickets for tonight, good luck everyone!
Free money is always a welcomed treat, hope one of those tickets reward you.
Next Estimated Jackpot is $435MILLION!
That's approx. $165 Mil if you opt for the lump sum and after fed taxes. That's a lot of fun money.
Thank You VIP3772, I keep on reminding LP Members to win the jackpot before it hits these levels. You would not have had to share with other winners. Now you will have to share.
The Press has picked up tonight's jackpot. It may be too late to win it all by yourself.
Good Luck!!!
The CA lottery jackpot is $44millions tonight. Powerball can be a tricky beast because winning it will make it hard to stay invisible. There are a ton of people in CA who share my first and last names. Maybe I should bet on CA SLP rather than PB.
As for SLP, the actual amount after maximum tax bracket will be $17millions. That's more than enough for me.
Much better jackpot odds, too!
Except people have stopped winning the SLP. There have only been 2 winners in the past year. They use to average around 10-12 jackpots a year but the past 2 years it has tanked. Nothing has changed about the games either.
If that's the case then why is so JP (relatively) low? Have MM and PB completely cannibalized SLP?
Not sure what you're asking. SLP starts at $7 mil and goes up every roll over by $1 Mil.
Noticed that the MM winning ticket for $61 Mil sold in Laguna, CA has yet to be claimed.
What I mean is, if no one wins it then why is the JP so low? Only $1M per roll-over means not a lot of people playing.
It's the rules. $1 mil per roll over no matter how many tickets sold. It's more than other state lotteries as far as I know.
I won! I won! $5 bucks.
No Jackpot winner, 4 2nd Prize winners. And it rolls on to 435/273.1. Let the fever begin.
Won $6 on Mega millions with my 'free ticket'.
I see lucky #13 came in for Powerball # again last night.
Can hardly wait until Todd updates the standings on where the $435 million stands in the lottery hall of fame as I call it.
Well California, your para-mutuel paid off this time...just over $1.6 million.
YEP! That DARN #13 still Haunting US!
Save the post from the last PG Please for SAT. DRAWING!
I'm going to WIN this PB, IF they would just match the #'s I have on my tickets! HA HA HE HE LOL!
I will SHARE no one needs that much money even with the Charities I want to support.......
I think I'm going to change my #'s ON PB maybe even on MM? I would completely be Happy with the MM WIN!
Good to see the freebie ticket got you a little something.
