Iowa Lottery officials say a Lotto America ticket bought at a convenience store in Davenport is worth nearly $4.4 million.
The ticket matched the six numbers in Saturday's Lotto America drawing: 8, 15, 18, 32, and 45, with Star Ball number 1.
The ticket was generated free when the person bought a Powerball ticket at the Kwik Trip convenience store, located at 2850 W. Locust Street in Davenport, Iowa, as part of an Iowa Lottery promotion for May.
Lotto America is a multi-state lottery game offered for sale in 13 states. Lotto America replaced the retired Hot Lotto game last November.
This is the second time the Lotto America jackpot has been won. The first time was a $22.8 million jackpot claimed by a Minnesota family in March.
The odds of winning the jackpot in Lotto America are around 1 in 26 million, with the odds of about 1 in 292.2 million of winning the Powerball jackpot and about 1 in 302.6 million of winning the Mega Millions jackpot.
Jackpot prizes won in Iowa must be claimed at Iowa Lottery headquarters in Clive.
Following this jackpot win, the Lotto America jackpot resets to its starting point of $2 million for the upcoming drawing on Wednesday evening.
Won with a free ticket!
That is special.
Minus applicable taxes ??? That might be just enough to retire on... or take an early retirement
Congratulations!! To the winner or winners.
Thank you LP for having an article on L.A. resurgence so that my curiosity was satisfied reading this is NOT an RNG game!
I'm in Davenport on business.
Think I will stop by the place a buy a few tickets and check it out.
Congrats to the winner! That was something to get it on the FREE promotional ticket!
