"Pre-determined" is what stuck out to me. Lottery officials probably already KNOW what the winning combinations are for the next game

They know which scratch-off tickets are winners. Players have to pay money in order to find out.

The lottery certainly doesn't know what ping pong balls will be picked in the next drawing.

What a bummer!! I would never play again after this!! If players start vowing from playing, they would pay these types of errors out. Not the players fault!!

Exactly. The sad truth is that the sales drop from news like this doesn't even register it's so tiny. People just don't seem to care.

If half the players boycotted the lottery until they paid up, the state would very quickly pay up, because losing half the profits is many, many times the erroneous ticket value.

The state could at least have given her $1,000 in free tickets. That's only worth $500 in real money (on average), it's chump change to the state, and gives the player plenty of tickets to scratch. $100 in free tickets is almost a joke, and the T-shirt that says "winner" is a total lie, and insult, and deserves to be burnt to a crisp in effigy on the sidewalk outside lottery headquarters.
