I would be happy with $10,000 or a cool million on mega millions and $50,000 or a cool million on Powerball.  I got my tickets over the weekend for both games and I used megaplier and powerplay for both.  So come on big money show Oregon some love.-weshar75

"now features a jackpot that will provide multi-generational wealth to the lucky player who eventually wins it all."

I'm picking a nit here, but the only word I'd change in the above sentence is the word 'player'.  I'd change it to 'players'.

While it'd be great if one player won it all, that's not what typically happens when we see jackpots as large as this one is.  Multiple winners doesn't always happen, (as was noted in the article) but it seems to me that it does happen more often than not.  G5

Players who've won large lottery jackpots have something in common. Many of them say "I've played the lottery for years, but I never won anything but small prizes."   That's normal or typical, but it's also why you should not get discouraged and stop playing.  Who knows?  Maybe someday you'll say "I've played the lottery for years...."

Just playing PB for now,  The 5+0 PB prize in California is way higher than MM 5+0 prize in California

Totally agree, that Powerball second prize in California is looking great right now, so I'd go heavy on Powerball if I lived in the state.

"see if they have a different purchase option for wherever you live"

No matter how you manage it, buying in TX gives you an extra option for remaining anonymous. Buying in any state that doesn't have an income tax on prizes from their lottery almost certainly gives you the option of moving and reducing your income taxes. Or try to buy in your own state if you'd rather pay the taxes and not relocate.

They do buy Texas lottery tickets, but only for residents of Texas.  If you live elsewhere, still go ahead and click the link for Powerball (or this one for Mega Millions) to see if they have a different purchase option for wherever you live.

I have my "ticket" Bought online in Sweden where The Lotter now have been granted permission to sell bets on the outcome. They do not longer buy tickets in person. The Swedish license only allows betting.
