One of two men who police said stole Pennsylvania Lottery tickets from a Sharon business was arrested a week after the theft.

George Crawford Jr., 24, of 390 Quinby St., was arrested at midnight Monday at home on a warrant for theft and conspiracy, police said.

Just after 7 a.m. Sept. 8, two men, one of whom police said was Crawford, entered Sheetz, 505 E. State St. One man distracted the clerk who was restocking Lottery tickets, while Crawford grabbed $200 worth of Grin and Win tickets, police said.

The tickets were immediately reported stolen to the Pennsylvania Lottery Commission, police said.

Shortly after the theft, Crawford tried to cash in the tickets at a Farrell business but when the tickets were scanned, a message on the computer told the clerk to call the Lottery commission, according to a police affidavit. The clerk, who recognized Crawford, told police he didn't understand the message on the computer and Crawford left, the affidavit said.

Policemen who saw a surveillance video from Sheetz also recognized Crawford, the affidavit said. Police said they are still searching for the second man involved in the theft.

When police arrested Crawford they also charged Darren G. Millhoff, 26, of 451 Jefferson Ave., Sharon, and George Crawford Sr., 58, also of 390 Quinby, on a charge of hindering apprehension. No further information was available on their arrests Tuesday afternoon.
