IE9 to be released Monday March 14
Internet Explorer version 9 (IE9) will be offically released by Microsoft on Monday, March 14. Downloads will be available starting at 12 noon Eastern Time (9:00 p.m. Pacific Time) Monday. I've been using and testing IE9 for the past year, as Microsoft has been releasing beta copies of IE9 during its development. I have been extremely impressed with the results, and I can happily say that IE9 is a really nice browser, worthy of becoming your primary browser....

Still running Windows 8? Time to upgrade, or else
I see from the Lottery Post web stats that many people are still running Windows 8 on their computers. If you're one of these people, you really need to do the free upgrade to Windows 10. Excellent write-up of how Windows 8 works, plus strengths & weaknesses
Paul Allen, a co-founder of Microsoft (who has not worked for Microsoft for many years) published an excellent article detailing his experience with Windows 8 on both a desktop computer and a tablet. IE8 beta probably released too early
I installed and tried out the new IE8 beta, which was released to developers today. IMHO, it was pushed out the door too quickly even for a beta. I would call it more of an alpha . Case in point: Microsoft's own site crashed the browser. Normally I'll leave a beta browser on my computer for at least a couple/few days to give it a fair shake, but IE8 was so unusable that I had to uninstall it within an hour. Yup, that bad.
