My Personal Web Site
Hello everyone, For my New Year's resolution I decided to expand my horizons and try to build a web site. I got an early start 3 weeks ago when I had time off for the holidays. I have included all the charts I posted here and added one state for symmetry. I will be adding all kinds of new things to the site as I learn how to do them. The site is best viewed with a 1024x768 display or better. Be sur...

I look for the current month and write down all the numbers that are schedule for that particular month and the dates they are expected to fall. Then I go on the SC web site and see when the last time those numbers fell. As the year progresses I get interested in whether that particular number fell in that year or not. Since...

Home
Led after the first half of tournament - cards were hot for me, but not for my partner. Cards went to pot for me the second half and partner still couldn't get anything. Out of the money. So be it. I'll need to post the results and complete the web site for the tournament, but that shouldn't be any problem. Still had fun. Accomplished some project work while o...

johnny cash tops the charts after 37 year break
Johnny Cash Tops Chart After 37-Year Break Johnny Cash's once-boisterous baritone takes on a fragile tone on 'V,' finished just weeks before his death in 2003. NEW YORK (July 12) - He died nearly three years ago but Johnny Cash is back at the top of the charts - for the first time in 37 years. The accomplishment, though, is muted slightly: "American V: A Hundred Highways," a compilation of recordings by the Man in Black, re...

Substantial Performance Increases
Wow, today I implemented substantial performance increases throughout the web site. The main page, which typically took about a second to generate, now generates in about a tenth of a second. Each forum page takes less than two-tenths of a second to create. And so on. This came about when I discovered a database programming technique, and implemented it in all the places where any substantial database transaction activity take place....
