If MUSL didn't like Powerplay, they would get rid of it. They love it because it has a profit margin of 50%. If 12 people win the 2nd place prize with its 1 in 11 million chance of winning, that would imply 140 million tickets sold. At the rate of $1 extra per ticket for Powerplay, that's $140 million in gross revenue. MUSL would much rather bring in $140 million in gross revenue and pay out $12 million extra (plus more on the lower prizes). Most people (including me) don't pay extra

I think we are basically saying and doing the same thing. You are not playing MM and are playing other games of your choice. You stay within your budget and support your other games using the money you might have otherwise spent MM. Congratulations on that! I am just throwing all MM money towards PB because the odds are relatively close and MM is 150% more costly. My first choice is Powerball, but only when the jackpot is truly outrageous - 500-750 Mil cash value or more. The way it is moving up now it is just about time to jump in for the big one - only a few more draws to go before it hits my target I think. My second choice is the Rolling Cash 5 5/39 game in Ohio. We are also skipping Mega Millions this week. Waiting for the jackpot to get a lot bigger. At least bigger than Powerball. My reasons are very different than MM's reasons, but I'm hoping that we'll see a ridiculously large jackpot in 3 months or so. By that time PB will either have been won or be well beyond the current record. Ah okay! Makes sense now. But, seriously, who does that!!!?! I mean in 2025, why risk losing money even if there's a 50/50 chance that you might not win. Even the odds for some games are 1:1,000 Even politicians know that you don't put money into the stock market unless you're sure of a return. LOL. Mega Millions jackpot increases
They told us that the jackpot would grow faster with the matrix change. That doesn't seem to be the case. The latest jackpot increase is $14MM. The odds of winning the jackpot better than before. I don't see how we are going to get bigger jackpots. It is clear fewer people are playing.
