Draw games versus Scratch-offs?
I am not much a fan of scratchers, myself. I don't have the self-control necessary not to scratch it off right away, so the entertainment value is very minimal, very short-lived. The odds on some of them are better than most or even all the draw games, but the scratcher mid and top prizes are not very high.
So for example, I could spend $10 on a scratcher with like 1:3.7 odds, and justify a $10 per play for the odds being better than even 1:4. However, the entertainment value will be ove

Buying lottery tickets in Biloxi, Mississippi Casino Entertainment Area.
While Beau Rivage Casino, Hard Rock Casinos don't actually sell Mississippi Lottery tickets, across the street from them is two places that do: Fat Tuesday at Boomtown Daiquiri Bar, and Clark's Shell Station. These two locations can be carefully walked to, to get tickets from the adjacent casino complexes.

Do you keep track of your wins and losses?
I know I am no where near breaking even, so no, not really. I find no entertainment in knowing what I've spent on entertainment, and I haven't won anything substantial enough to be worth adding up.

Funding your lottery habit
I have an entertainment budget. I don't go to movies (I borrow them from the library) or buy DVDs or books (ditto) no magazines or newspapers, I get all that online. I consume alcohol occasionally but never at a bar, so I don't spend a lot of money on that indulgence. I don't have pay tv, I borrow the series DVDs from the library instead -- they usually have them within a couple months after each season ends so it's not that bad. So about 90% of my entertainment budget gets spent on lottery.

Anyone wonder how much money they would have if they hadn't played the lottery?
I think I would have about $7,000 stashed in a giant piggy bank if I hadn't played. But what else could I have done for entertainment? I don't watch tv other than sports and news. Fictional (books, movies and tv shows) literature is a total bore to me. Inexpensive gambling is good entertainment.

What are some of the best quotes that you have read about playing the lottery?
The decision of whether to buy a lottery ticket shouldn't be based on the probability of winning, or the expected return of a ticket, but on the entertainment value that comes from imagining a different life. If that entertainment value compares favourably with other activities with a similar price, then go for it. Plus, it has the added bonus that you might actually win; one-in-a-million events happen every day. Someone eventually wins the big prize, and you have to be in to win. By DC WOODS.

Are you making profits playing the lottrey ?
Don't put down cigs and beer. At least I get some entertainment from them. Not that I don't get entertainment in playing the lottery, but that's not guaranteed. What is guaranteed is that I can make my lungs black while inhaling cigs, and getting a nice buzz while sipping Heinekens....Sorry...no comparison.

How much a month do you spend on the game?
I consider playing lotteries as entertainment. When you spend money on entertainment, you don't expect to get it back, same as when you spend it on alcohol, cigarettes or cable TV. At least with lotteries there's a snowball chance you might get lucky and win something in return.

What Should I do--Quit Playing?
I've been playing and losing even longer than you but I enjoy playing and dreaming of beating the odds, it's entertainment. If you have doubts about playing the lottery then you would probably be better off to quit and start spending your entertainment dollars on something you enjoy more.

Which is your game of choice?
I prefer MegaMillions because it's local and only has two drawings per week. For entertainment I like tracking past drawing results and detecting trends that might indicate numbers in future drawings and with a couple of days between drawings I have time to do that. Buying QPs and hoping to get lucky isn't as entertaining. Sometimes when their jackpots are high, I'll try Rolling Cash5 or Classic Lotto but usually playing MM is plenty of entertainment for me.
