Ohio Lottery Players
Todd, as you know, I live in New York, but, I follow the progress of other states' quest for big jackpots. One thing you did NOT mention is how Ohio discriminates against lump-sum winners by using a smaller cash value (15-20%) than for those who take the annuity (30 payments.) Ohio needs to join a multi-state game (any more on a proposed joint game with Pennsylvania?) There will be a Lotto South beginning shortly after Labor Day; Kentucky will have another mega-jackpot game to lure Cincinnat

Something definitely wrong with this lottery payout..Yikes.
I still don't understand. Call me stupid I don't care. Mega millions is a multi-state game. All proceeds are accumulated with that particular lottery game fund. So how does California get to decide the payouts?

Monopoly Millionaires Club
When I first read about the game last year I had the impression that it would be a multi-state game with the same rules and prices in every state but that sounds like a different concept.

Has anyone ever won a state and multi-state at the same time?
I'm sure plenty of people have gotten a 0 + 1 prize on the multi-state game and 2 of 6 (good for a free QP) on their home state's game. Nothing to make headlines about, though.

I think Californians hate Super Lotto Plus
When a state becomes a Powerball or Mega Millions state, that multi-state game does to that state's lottery game the same thing Wal Mart does to neighboring small businesses when it comes into a community.

Poll: Michigan Mega Millions
Sure it would reduce sales of the in-state games. How does that make it the right decision? They certainly didn't increase ticket sales by not adding a multi-state game with high jackpots, and their job is to sell tickets and turn a profit. It's not part of their job, but by not adding a multi-state game they've limited the chances for FL residients to win those large jackpots, too.

After a big multi-million win how long would you wait to come forward?
i voted to come forward after consulting legal advice and financial advice. i also know it can take 2-6 weeks for the lottery to receive all of the money from the other states involved in the game so there would be no rush to show up before they can actually wire me the money. if it wasnt a multi state game and just in my state jackpot then i would show up after i have my legal and financial advice because it shouldnt take as long to wire me the money without having to wait on other states...

Florida joining a Multi-State Lottery
Despite the Mega Millions group's statement that it will not allow more states into the game, it is hard to say which multi-state game Florida will eventually end up joining (if Florida's next governor knows what is good for Florida). Obviously, it will join Powerball if MM doesn't lift the moratorium; however, if MM keeps getting a lucky string of wins, the group may change its mind and ask Florida to join so it has another excuse to increase the matrix again.

a change is coming to lotto south
Those two states are pretty much encircled by Powerball states. If they hope to continue it as a multi-state game, they need to have the input of those neighboring states. I would guess that the game probably has to move the weekend drawing to Friday to attract those states. Monday, Wednesday, and Friday might be a viable move for Lotto South
