I have a feeling they could be having better odds as well If there's no tax on winnings then the effective odds are almost certainly better. Without the federal income tax or 37% on a big win the same game odds would make a foreign jackpot of $100 million comparable to a US jackpot of (about) $150 million. Similarly, a foreign jackpot with odds less than 50% worse is effectively better than a US jackpot with the same (pre-tax) jackpot.

I can spend more, but Im now 72. A 2 Step win would be plenty for my remaining years. I do play TX Lotto, still only a buck for ticket. But the odds on that game is pretty bad. Not MM or PB bad, but.... 2 Step would take care of me for the rest of my life along with a couple IRA's I have. I used to spend 2k a year or more. Yeah, I won more, but nothing really noteworthy. The current raffle is capped at 2,000,000 tickets. But ticket sales have been so slow since March 1st when tickets first went on sale, there's no way they'll ever sell 2,000,000. Just look at the odds of any jackpot game is honestly the cleanest filter there is. Everything else is noise on top of a number that basically doesn't move. And your point about Tx2Step is the one people miss: the smaller state games have dramatically better odds for prizes that would still genuinely change a regular person's month. Back in the old days when I was making pretty good money, I spent hell bent for leather $$$ on several lottery games, MM included. Now, not so much. I'm on a strict budget, and the $5/ticket is not worth the odds of the game regardless of the jackpot. I even cut way back on PB also. At my age, just winning a few hundred thousand on the little Tx2Step would be quite fine.

Raffles are the one lottery format where the odds are fully knowable up front fixed ticket pool, fixed prizes, no randomness in the denominator once sales cap. Kind of refreshing after the draw games where you're staring down 1-in-300-million. Does FL cap the ticket count this time, or is it open-ended?
