There appear to be a huge number of

Big games enter lottery's big picture
A giant jackpot lottery such as Powerball or Mega Millions is likely to become part of Tennessee's buffet of games, but the heads of lotteries in Tennessee and Georgia say a possible partnership won't affect which game Tennesseans play.Others, including the chief of the South Carolina lottery, say Georgia's membership in Mega Millions could influence Tennessee to join that game, which is not as well-known by Middle and West Tennesseans. These big games in which states pool their prize money to of

N.J. store clerk buys old workplace after lottery win

Powerball winners have cause for thanks
Cash,I think that is an option for all lotteries that allow cash option/annuity choices at claiming (as opposed to at purchase). The IRS regs say that a winner has 60 days from time of claiming to declare which they choose (or else it is assumed for taxes that they took the lump sum). Lottery Vendors Object to Tenn.-Georgia Partnership
I am in favor of the partnership myself. the lottery would start much earlier and make more money..The 4 vendors who are against the partnership are sore losers. They want absolute control. I personally feel that they are against the checks and balances in the Georgia system. In other words I feel as if the 4 vendors win, there is room for hanky panky which is not so easy if a sister state is looking over their shoulders.

Lottery partnerships have poor track record
As Tennessee officials consider a lottery partnership with Georgia, lottery observers warn that similar joint ventures have had their problems. Tensions simmer within a consortium of western Canadian provinces operating a lottery together. Three New England states are starting to go their separate ways. And South Carolina took only a few days before turning down Georgia's offer to join forces.``Some liaisons are not what they're cracked up to be,'' Edward Stanek of Iowa, the country's longest-se
