New York man claims state's biggest Mega Millions prize at $476 million
It still doesn't feel real.
By Kate Northrop
Someone in New York won the state's largest Mega Millions jackpot, setting the new record at $476 million. On Monday, he stepped forward to claim the prize.
Johnnie Taylor, 71, of Howard Beach, was the sole winner of the Mega Millions jackpot from the drawing on April 14, 2023.
It is the largest Mega Millions prize won in New York since the game launched in the state in 2002. The previous record was a $437 million jackpot won by a tic

Maryland Lottery to switch to computerized drawings
I sent an email to Md Lottery.
At the 1:55 mark in this video https://www.mdlottery.com/player-tools/watch-the-drawings/#rng it says: The results are verified by several quality assurance tests to make sure the numbers are truly random. After the results are verified, the winning numbers are displayed on the screen and the drawing team shares these numbers with public .
Question 1) There are no longer any ping pong balls that need to be to weighed and measured, or tested to make sure th

Virginia Lottery retailers escalate boycott, halt ALL lottery ticket sales until further notice
We can buy them online in Virginia. I have not bought from a retailer for quite a while now.
Everything is online but Bank a Million. And every grocery chain has lottery machines.

Virginia Lottery retailers refuse to sell tickets to draw attention to skill games amendment
I don't get the church part but I was in a non chain convenience store last year and it had a large slot machine type machine. A guy playing was in a manic state playing over and over. It was sad.
Maybe people are bargaining with God in Church for a big win and then go nearby to a retailer?

Florida LLC revealed to have claimed $1.6 billion Mega Millions lottery jackpot
Exactly my thoughts.
If the doctor had a winning ticket of more than $600 that he must redeem at a Florida Lottery office prior to September, then his name and address was saved in The Florida Lottery's database. When The Jackpot Winners and Retailer Information Report was created in September, it's very plausible that his name was placed on the report either by a software program error or it was manually put on the report in error by someone that works at The Fla Lottery. California man reinvests $500 lottery win into scratch-off book, scoops up $1 million prize
If you were the owner or manager of the store I guess you could secretly x-ray all the scratch offs when the store was closed, set aside the books or rolls with big winners, sell them to your buddy, and leave the duds in the store to be sold to unwitting customers.
This scam sounds familiar. Wasn't there a news story about a retailer who did something similar?

Six-figure prize might go out the window
By Kate Northrop
There's a winning Florida Lottery Fantasy 5 ticket worth $186,000 laying unclaimed somewhere, and it's set to expire in two weeks.
The Florida Lottery announced on Wednesday that a six-figure Fantasy 5 ticket worth $186,000 is going to expire, and there's not much time left for the winner to step forward.
Someone bought a Fantasy 5 ticket from the Publix grocery store on Collins Avenue in Miami Beach for the drawing on Se

$1.35 BILLION: Mega Millions jackpot set to deliver unimaginable wealth
Protected with a contract.
Think about it. When you buy a lottery ticket at a retailer, you have just entered into a legal contract with a stranger.

$1.28 BILLION: Lottery officials raise tonight's Mega Millions jackpot estimate again
Website still down. Took my losing tickets (didn't have the Gold ball) to the lottery machine and says see retailer. Won't scan.
Past experience IMHO dictates that there was a winner. The state has to run security things and probably with Atlanta as well. Hoping I'm wrong and no winner, though I don't think that is the case.
