The retirement nest eggs for eight Maryland seniors just got a little richer.The Maryland Lottery announced Tuesday afternoon that a lively group of senior citizens collected their $175,000 prize from last Friday's Mega Millions game. Maryland Evening Pick 3 Number-777 Pays Out $2.2 Million
Hundreds of players are arriving at Lottery retail locations across Maryland to claim cash prizes they won in Wednesday's Pick 3 game.Initial reports indicate that players wagered $491,000 on the lucky number 777-which paid out $2.2 million in prizes or approximately 462 percent over the games ticket sales last night. Maryland and Massachusetts Lotteries announce $50 scratch-off tickets
Two more states to join the $50 trend

The Maryland Lottery and Massachusetts Lottery have both recently announced that they are on track to begin offering their first $50 scratch-off tickets this year.
In February, Maryland and Massachusetts players will be able to pick out an expensive ticket next time they visit a lottery retailer.

Maryland liquor store owner charged in lottery scam
The owner of a liquor store in North Point, Maryland, was arrested and charged with grand theft, petty theft, and fraud after she was caught stealing an undercover agent's winning lottery ticket worth $10,000.
Ross Liquors, located in the Merritt North Shopping Center, had its Maryland Lottery license revoked following the undercover operation. The theft occured on last week, on March 8th.
