Look at this and calculate the Odds...
I don't play pick3 games but if I could calculate the odds that 5 numbers would not appear in a particular position for a period of time I would be playing because if I was right only half the time I could make money. Pick3 is the combined random outcomes of 3 events that have 10 possible outcomes which equal 1000 possible out comes together. Eliminating 5 of those outcomes for each event would reduce the total possible outcomes to 125 instead of 1000 and covering those 125 outcomes would pay

Help with Odds Math - Excel maybe?
Hi Everyone; I am trying to figure a way to produce the odds for wheeled combinations and not sure how to do it (I am not a math genius) and was wondering if anyone has done this before etc... my efforts searching the forums have not so far been productive. I have found the Odds Calculator here on the site and this works well but I am looking for more etc.. About 30 years ago I bought a little kit for lotto play and inside it, there was a simple chart... What I want to do is make a

Another stupid math question
Yeah, that's what I meant by winning a prize, but they don't have $1 winners on $3 tickets. Not here anyway. I was just trying to figure the odds of winnig any prize like what is represented in the odds they give. I wasn't trying to figure out how to make money. If I was really trying to make money I wouldn't be buying lottery tickets. I was just trying to figure out how you calculate the odds for winning any prize. I think the 7$ ticket would be better than 3 2's and a 1, unless you real

Hmmm, law of averages perhaps ?

Or should i highlight this as a trend and calculate based on what i know ?Another way of looking at i

Calculates Odds by Position
Games of chance are dependent on the odds. The odds are determined based on how many times a number appears in a given range. The better understanding of the odds that we have, the more educated our guesses can be. I am not a mathematician, but one of the tools I developed while feeling my way through this was something that would calculate the odds of a number appearing based on the position and previous number. Here is a sample of the results that it produced.

(New member) Have any of you broken down a keno game?
Pick 3 is basically 1 in 1000. 3 digits 0 to 9. Pick 4 is 1 in 10,000, 4 digits 0 to 9. The odds are fairly straightforward to calculate, if 1 digits is fixed in P3 there are then 100 combinations where that 1 digit appears. There are additional calculations for box versus straight or odd versus even. The problem with those games is that the payout isn't enough to make winning worthwhile.

I need help calculating my odds
No it's not a typo. When you calculate the odds there are 258,890,850 possible combinations and 12,103,014 combinations of 0+1 which is 12,103,014/258,890,850 = 1/21

Trying to calculate the number of combinations with criteria
How do you calculate the odds if for the 3 balls, you select from numbers 1-45, and for the last 3 you select from 1-15? You don't know whether the first 3 numbers you select contains a number from 1-15.

Mathmatical Average
CARBOB I figured it out, If your looking for methods of reducing sets or trying to find patterns then remember this any method that you use that increases the odds from where you started is a step in the wrong direction. consider this if you play ID = 2 the only 4 digits that can make 5 or more numbers are the digits 1-2-3 There are 3 combos of 2 that can be taken from these digits 1-2, 1,3, 2,3. However. choice #1. 1-2 make the numbers 01-02-11-12-21-22. choice #2. 1-

Visual Basic Programing and Math
That is Keno. If you are playing to match 10 numbers there are 184,756 potential winning combinations each drawing from 5,720,645,481,903 ten digit combinations. In short your odds are 1 in 30,963,246 of picking the correct 10 digits. At first seems like some pretty generous payouts for getting 9 out of 10 numbers although when I look at the odds of 1 in 486,565 they are on par with a pick 5 game here which has about the same payout. If you want to look at historical data just store the 2
