No Jackpot Triple Play winner last night and the jackpot grew to $1.45 million. If there is no jackpot winner for the what I believe will be the next five drawings, then on February 28th it might be advertised at $2 million. The last time that happened, the first draw for $2 million did not produce a winner. With the following draw for $2 million, somebody won it. Here's a cut and paste from The Florida Lottery's website about what happens if there is no winner once the jackpot reaches $2

I want winning the lottery to be much easier .... You and me both and everybody else too! The reality is you have to work hard at it and even then you'll need some good luck on your side. Those seven non-QP winners from last night probably played a set of numbers that are personal to them... trouble is there are a lot of other folks out there that are using the same set of numbers which dilutes the amount you actually win. They'll each take the $23,921 they won, but I cant help but think

What would you do with the money? $135,000 isn't so life changing, especially after Uncle Sam takes his share. That's a question a few folks in my family have asked me, and I realized something when they said it, and that's that they're right to a certain extent. Depending upon one's financial situation, it could be very life changing. I have a mortgage, it's not overly big, so even after federal income taxes were taken out of my total winnings, I could pay off my mortgage. Even though my m

A word about participating in playing the lottery by being a member of an office pool. First, it's a lot of work for the person that runs it. But worse than that, it can turn into a nightmare even if the pool wins a prize like $50,000. I was in an office pool where I used to work. (I still am in it even though I retired) We have never won a significant prize in the many years the pool has been in existence. Where I worked, there were over 10,000 people working at that site. We heard of ano

When I was in my home state Connecticut I used to go to Mohegan sun and play SIC BO Those people don't like me!!! I know how to play it and those pit bosses used to come up to me THREATHENING me to leave that table saying I had to pay taxes, saying anything to get me off that table. But I lost a lot of money on that dam table over the years at first but they didn't mention that part during I went through a bad streak lost about 5,900 in a few days I was pissed!!!! So I go back and forth losing a

I believe NYL taxes on the spot if the payout is higher than $5000. 1099 paperwork later if payout is $5000 and lower.

Nope, you're not wrong! And.... because you'd have to go to a lottery office to claim your prize with a one ticket five line winner, it's possible they would hit you for income taxes. (Although from what happened to my co-worker when he claimed his $4500 scratch off prize, maybe they wouldn't tax them) I do think you'd have to hit a different bodega with each ticket... cant see just one bodega getting too excited about cashing five $600 winners for you. Congrats on the 4 out of 5 hit. $416 is better than winning nothing. There were 3 winners so if you had hit all five, a four way split would have given you $18,767 before taxes.
