I did something yesterday that I rarely do. I bought $5.00 QP FF5. (The only QP's I ever play are Free Tickets) and I won two Free Tickets with my five dollar QP ticket!! Selling lottery tickets across the entire USA is a massive business. It's a multi-Billion dollar business. Corporations like AT T, Exxon/Mobil, NetFlix and IBM are multi-billion dollar enterprises. If anybody was going to hit four numbers in Take5, last nite was the night to do it. $1,031 bucks for 4 numbers. Here's some math that demonstrates why players who buy a four inch thick stack of lottery tickets thinking they are improving their chances of winning a jackpot are only fooling themselves. Suppose a player bought half of all FF5's 376,992 possible combinations of five numbers. Yeah, I did force their hand, but after I left the gas station I realized what I had done was risky. My thinking is that after a ticket has been scanned, it must be paid out. That's because a winning ticket can only be paid one time. After it's been paid, a ticket could be scanned a second time, but the computer that the lottery terminal is attached to is not going allow it to be paid out a second time. I was just looking back at the Excel spreadsheet I created last year where I was tracking how much I spent in 2021 for FF5 tickets. On that sheet I also logged various other things like each Saturday's total jackpot amount. I can tell you the total FF5 jackpot amount for each and every Saturday of 2021.
