When ever I've gone to Indiana to buy PB tickets, I had to remember part of the state doesn't switch to day light saving time in the summer, which doesn't effect the time of the drawing but when the store closes which effects when tickets can be bought.

I don't play PowerPlay but when the PB jackpot exceeds $200M, I've travel to Indiana to get tickets and forgotten to mark my play slips for multi-drawings. So far I've been lucky, the jackpot was won that drawing or when it rolled my numbers wouldn't have won anyway.

When I drive to the local gas station to buy MegaMillions tickets tonight I plan to play as if I drove to Indiana to buy tickets for a PowerBall jackpot of $275M.

MegaMillions jackpot in local news
For the first time in a long time a MegaMillions jackpot under $200M was in the local news. Channel 10 news report tickets for Friday's MM $177M jackpot were selling briskly at the local stores. I've always thought the game would sell more tickets if more than just the regular lottery players knew when the jackpot was $100M or more. Before MegaMillions came to Ohio, when ever the PowerBall or BigGame jackpots went to $100M, this station would send a news team to Indiana or Michigan to do

That's probably true, I remembered years ago when the PowerBall and BigGame jackpots were $150M+ TV stations in Columbus would send news teams to Indiana and Michigan to do stories about the buying frenzies and now they don't even do a story when the local MM jackpot is $200M. Maybe these lotteries should start making their own news stories and giving them to the the TV stations to run. I hear other group that want their stories in the news are doing that.

In October 2005, the PB jackpot was $240M and rolled two more times before it was hit, there's a chance the same thing could happen again tonight. If it does I will be making a trip to Indiana to pick up some tickets.

I didn't actually play the PB, but I posted on the prediction board the combinations I would have played had I made the trip to Indiana to buy tickets. In the past I've only made the trip when the jackpot was over $180M and $80M more than the MM jackpot since I can play MM locally. I got a 1+1 for $4 on the prediction board but I was using 42WB and 10PB.

I had hoped I would have a winning system by time the PB jackpot rolled up to $200M again and I would be returning back to Indiana to cash in my tickets from Aug 2/06. No such luck, I guess I'll just have to go with what I got and hope for the best.

It's anyone's guess when Unlucky for Life will be retired (better sooner than later; if it's still around in late September it will be two years old) but I think Match 6 will be around a while. I hear Indiana will be the next state to offer a game similar to Match 6.

Because of the price of gas I've given up driving to Indiana for PB tickets and opted to stay home and buy MM tickets locally, besides the Cash Value is higher. I will continue to participate in the Maddog PB challenge and anyone is welcome to use the numbers I post and hopefully they will have better luck with them than I ever did. Good luck to you.
