Hoosier Lotto
When I play the lottery locally, I come up with a new list for each drawings because the combinations I pick are effected by the most recent winning numbers. However when I travel to Indiana to play PB I usually play the same numbers for two drawings which is what I would probably do if I played the Hoosier Lotto.

Hoosier Lotto
Had I played that list for Saturday drawing it would only matched 3 twice but it would have matched 2 sixteen times. The performance of that list has convinced me that I don't need to drive to Indiana to lose.

Hoosier Lotto
I was going to try that for real with $100 until I tried it on paper and lost. I would have won 20 free tickets and a few dollars but not enough to travel back to Indiana to play again.

Hoosier Lotto
Lotteries jackpots aren't based on the amount of money states have other than that generated by lottery tickets sales. Most states with a $40M+ lottery jackpots usually generate enough ticket sales to add more than $500K to the jackpot when it rolls and still keep 50% of sales for themselves. Some states like to keep a little more, maybe Indiana is one of those states. With the largest jackpot in the area there are probably plenty of players from out of state playing too so ticket sales shoul

Hoosier Lotto
Something I forgot to mention, when it says the jackpot only goes up by $500K, they are refering to $500K annuity, not cash. So when you see that the jackpot has gone up by $500K, the amount it has gone up in cash value is probably about $240K-$250K. Once the jackpot gets higher, more people will buy tickets so that allows us to get into 60% cash range of the jackpot. Indiana doesn't have a lot of money compared to other states.

Hoosier Lotto
Hoosier Lotto (6/48) game does seem do have a different distribution of its numbers than other similar games, the distribution seems to be more even as if a computer is controlling them. 11175 09/05/07 19 20 24 30 41 45 MIN. 1 _____________________________________________________ 11174 2 09/01/07 03 12 17 19 45 46 2* 2 ---------------------------------------- 51170 4 08/18/07 03 07 21 29 30 41 2* 4 ----------------------------------------

Maddogs Powerball Challange 9/1
Since PB isn't played in my state, I participate in the challenge for fun. I didn't even head over to Indiana for tickets when it was at $300Ms.

Indiana Lottery (Hoosier Lotto)
I think you need to think about this more mathematically. Even if 1,000,000 tickets were sold, that's only 8.1% chance of it not rolling. So yes, it is possible for this game to go months without anyone winning. The population of Indiana is about 6.3 million, and I highly doubt 1/6 the population plays Hoosier Lotto. Why don't you think about it that way?

Powerball & Megamillions Growing
Actually if both games didn't have jackpots with cash values of $5M-$20M of each other they would be growing faster. I usually drive to Indiana for PB tickets when its jackpot is $180M+ but since MM jackpot cash value is only $5M-$20M less, the money spent on gas and PB tickets would be better spent on MM tickets in my opinion so I won't be making the trip unless MM is hit first. I imagine both games will less than normal out of state players as long as both jackpots continue to roll.

PowerBall rises to $161 million!!
Two more rolls and it will be worth a trip to Indiana to buy tickets, until then I'll be satisfied just playing for the MegaMillions jackpot locally which isn't that much less when you look at the cash values.
