I predict HL will be gone by next year
They apparently want to compliment Powerball with an even bigger game. This could potentially be the international game CA wanted, but never got. Well, they're screwed now. My guess, an eventual merger with this Blue Game with Euro Millions.

Powerball 170 million!!
I understand that they've had a few $5,000 winners since they started on the Web a couple of years ago. However, a few years back, before they came to the Web, they had a UK Lotto jackpot winner, who redeemed their winning ticket within 1 week of the draw. They are an international company, which is required, since a lottery service firm has to have a presence in every country and state in which they service games.

Time to change Mega Millions
No lets not change it. Get more states involved. Since there thinking of trashing an international lottery if we were to split half the states with mega million and half with powerball. We would have bigger prize pools.Or combine the two for one US lottery and call it MegaPower

Deb:Mega Millions is 5/52 + 1/52. I had two tickets, I played four identical numbers, and ALL FOUR came out!!CA is a MUSL member, but has no intention of selling PB. There is an international game in the works involving MUSL, although I haven't heard anything more lately.

Rotten Egg poll...
I read there was/is a fairly recent movement for northern California (and southern Oregon) to become its own state. Of course, this is not the proper forum for that discussion, but, you have to wonder how lotteries would be affected if state lines were changed, added, or removed. After all, look at the many changes of international boundaries in just the last 15 years in eastern Europe.

Rotten Egg poll...
CA is a MUSL member; however, they joined because of the proposed international game.FL's previous governor approved PB; Jeb Bush vetoed the game.

MUSL Hot Lotto
Ok, then, why is California a MUSL member?CA wants to be part of an international lottery game, the details of which I know virtually nothing about. This game apparently would NOT be Powerball, even if Mexico joins MUSL.

Mexico to Join Powerball?
smd: There is/was supposed to be an international game _separate_ from Powerball, AFAIK. (If Mexico were to join MUSL, Hot Lotto also could go global.)

Anyone else thinking of Euromillions?
On the issue of tax, I'm pretty sure it would not be taxed in the US as long as the money stays out of the US. I don't know if corporations or trusts can claim tickets in the UK or not. I do know that if the winner is from the UK then they get to meet with some advisors as part of the win. You would have to consult an international tax advisor here in the states.Any transfer of money, even on a debit card, could be a big problem if it's not declared as income to the IRS if you spend it here.
