Gas prices... sigh
I have not purchased scratch-its for awhile now because of higher prices for daily living but I still have some money left over to play Powerball at one or two lines a draw for the entire month. So I still have some form of entertainment through lottery games. Which is fine with me!

Am I normal?
I would say you're normal because what you described is overwhelmingly the consensus of most lotto players, at one point or another. Scratchers are fast, more engaging than drawing games, and have powerful marketing strategies. The ticket advertises itself and becomes branded into your mind, while the risk-taking effect alters your brain chemistry. They are spectacular ploys. Most of us are enticed by the prospect of being rich and winning our way through life. We accept the system because th

Any reason why this forum is shrinking?
It is quite clear in my post that I was buying $10 tickets. Nowhere did I mention buying a $25 ticket. I did not feel the name of the game I was playing mattered in my example, but for the sake of your entertainment I was playing the $10 NYL scratch off game Set for Life that has overall odds of 1:3.95 . I don t know where you got your statement from, actually . If ? I have no idea what you re talking about. Because actually the odds of winning on a $25 scratch off ticket called $7,000,000 Cash

Florida Scratch Offs - Post Pictures if posible
I finally scratched off the $2,500 a week for life that I bought last week. Been scratching off a number a day to delay the disappoint of buying a losing ticket. I started with my your numbers and scratched them off in random spots, I kept getting 20 somethings and I knew then that I was in trouble. Sure enough, scratched my winning numbers and one of the numbers was 28 but guess what 20 somethings I had? 20,21,23,24,26, and 29. At least I got a week's worth of entertainment from it.

Virginia scratchers are the biggest rip off
Every so often in our lottery pool we will play a game on top of Mega million which is sometimes scratchers. Usually when you buy a row of 8-10 tickets you win something. The last three times we played every last ticket was a loser. I wasn't even tempted to go back and buy additional tickets in case I just got a string of losers because I felt used enough as it was. Atleast this time it was only $1 scratchers but it still burns me up they are so cheap and devoid of any entertainment value what s

How much do people spend buying scratch tickets?
Hi Jon D, I agree with only spending what one can afford. Since I'm not someone who is a shopper (other than for groceries or essentials) I figure it's my entertainment money by playing the lottery. I agree with your last statement of people that win more probably spend more . I know that some people here when I've asked how much they spend (since they always mention their winning tickets) have never answered me. I'm assuming some people would prefer not to say how much they spend if it's a l

Hey HOOPS - I joined GOLD on this site to be able to upload pics - it has everything you need to do it. Besides, the $4.95 a month to be on here is worth the entertainment/other features as well as the pic upload deal. Nice hit on the $500 - join and get your ticket on here - some people say they win a nice one and you never see their ticket pic - makes me wonder if they are bullsh1tters .............

$295 back thats funny ! I had a roll of Ruby 7s that got me $295 back and another right after that got me like $330 and after that found a $1.3k roll. Even with the $5 loss its worth it as entertainment value alone... Today I got the last 6 Jubilee on the roll and got a $30 $20 and $100 made $30 ......

Oh man, that is some crazy shizit: the GA meeting leader buying 3 rolls...WOW! I hope things work out better for you James. I just try to stick to a lottery entertainment budget, whatever is comfortable for you. For me I do without Cable TV, don't miss it at all. And do without Starbucks couple times each day. Don't miss that either. Together that money saved funds my lotto budget. Find something that works for you.
