Developing a winning MegaMillions System
Stew, Would it be possible for you to express that as Percentage versus Random Play ? I gave the formula a few pages back. Over a number of draws, calculate the average hit. ( 3 or better in the pool 78.6% of the time and 5 balls drawn 19.6% of the time.) I'm gonna pluck a number out of the air and say the average was 4.1. (4.1 / 5) / (45 / 55) = 100% which is precisely equal to random play. (Not sure whether you're playing a 55 or 56 WB game). I've been experimenting with

Developing a winning MegaMillions System
As the name of this thread suggests, it not about posting winning predictions to play but rather about developing a system to win the MegaMillions game. Everyone is invited to explain how their system works and post 10-20 lines picked using that system before the drawings for evaluation. If you have been following this thread then you have an idea how the participants are picking their combinations. I'm still using my clean look back and distribution methods for my combinations of fives and

Developing a winning MegaMillions System
You can compare your pool picks vs random play with a little math. 100 * (Hits/numWB) / (poolWB/TotalWB) for example, my last game on Australian Powerball, I pooled 34 out of a total 45 white balls, and hit 5 of 5. Unfortunately, not enough together on one line for a payout. 100 * (5/5) / (34/45) = 132%. 100% = random play. Of course, just one game is not enough to be statistically meaningful, but over time should build up a good picture of how good the system is. Amanda

This was a bad weekend for me
It was a great weekend for me: - I won the office pool for college games - My USC Trojans destroyed some Division II team. - Pittsburgh beat Cleveland, Cincy, Akron, I dunno who it was.. (all in good fun, Jim) Seriously, though, that kid Pryor - the freshman QB - I hope Tressel doesn't ruin him, he looks like he could be awesome, and it kinda looks like the one year of magic for the Browns (2007) is all-but gone, and the same magic left Cincy last year.

Developing a winning MegaMillions System
The equation I use is basically: N = number of occurances T = total drawings (337 in this case) L = last hit ABSOLUTEVAL( (T/N) - (L+1) ) = DUE This way if a number averages once every 10 drawings and was drawn 9 draws ago, it's due value is 0. I take the absolute value so that numbers with similar positive due and negative due (1 and -1) values are rated equally, then oder from min to max. The top 10 picks are the top 10 closest to 0, and the bottom 11 are numbers furthest from 0
