Wish my state did online lottery sales. Get tired of driving to the store all the time. But they recently added a ticket scanner to the lottery app, so I guess I can't complain too much.

More people will bank and pay bills online, purchases from online stores will keep climbing, and most state and local services will be deployed online. My wife even bought a new car online last week and had it delivered. Why should the lottery be the sole exception to online access in so many states?

Massachusetts resident here. Even if they did do start doing online sales, I would probably still go to the store to buy the draw tickets with cash. Its just what I am used to and I like having the actual ticket in my hand. I live in a city with a lot of places within walking distance of my house. If, like in Europe, all winners remain anonymous, and there is no tax on lottery winnings, then I would have a lot less misgivings about online sales. However, I contend that buying your tickets on line just makes it that much harder to keep it a secret. I think hackers would immediately set about finding out whose computer the winning ticket was sold on.
