British Columbia Lottery taking bets on US election
First of all, I've never said jack didley about illegals not paying taxes or go on welfare. Yea, I'm sure they pay sales tax after a meal at McDonald's and of course they're not eligible for welfare. Second of all u said everything else I said was far detached from reality? LOL so Mr. bleeding heart pinko, we don't have any illegal-related problems I mentioned here? U belong in a commie China or N Korea or better yet, in a looney bin. Go work on ur reading comprehension.

Who Do You NOT Want To See Win a Top Lottery Jackpot Prize?
Wouldn't you rather see a welfare recipient win and get off welfare funded by taxpayers than a multimillionaire or billionaire? How do you feel about foreigners winning then?

Do you have to pay tax on a lottery win?
thanks MYTURN for the info on IHT, we dont have IHT here in Australia either. but yea we get taxed at purchase time. so the tax man doesnt have to wait till there is a winner to get his cut. the only time gifts are considered by the gov here is if they are given from a person who is a recipient of a gov pension or welfare. then their benefit would be reduced if the gift is too high. but ahh winning lotto should see you lose any pension or welfare benefit anyhow. if only you could be so lucky

Wow, it was probably difficult for David living: broke, ashamed, demoralized, in debt, on welfare, very sick, in pain, and mainly alone for these past 7.5 years.

Loopholes allow some Michigan lottery winners to stay on welfare
If one is on Welfare and they win $1000.00 does that you have to get off the program? It would seem that is what the hubbub is all about. A thousand dollars does not get you far in this society. Now if one is a multi millionaire- absolutely you ought to be kicked off welfare.
