Maryland Lottery a case study in the science of random numbers
as i am making my way thru the article with all the dna, physicists, random this and random that, the worlds most brilliant minds blah blah blah (lol), ........i just know that they are going to say it ......( but visiondude has the best explanation thus far; a $1 quick pick + you were meant to ) ...but they never say it.i was a bit let down after that one. i so crave the adulation of the scientific community by nailing this one so my name will be immortalized in one of these tomes about t

Jackpot lottery ticket: dying man's final gift
pick4, i am doing good, thanks. i am still playing my $1 quick pick on the jackpot games, but that is only because i am eventually meant to . i don't gamble on any other level. no pick3, no scratch off's, not even a super bowl pool. gambling doesn't do anything for me interest wise, so the only reason i even bother with my (1) QP, is because i know that i am meant to ...as a christian, i don't have any thing against gambling as such. but i don't promote it either as it is a matter of c

Numbers and draw date magnetism
Mike:This is from a couple of pages back, but it still probably applies: Seems to me there's another alternative to flawed machines, conspiracies, mistakes and anomalies with the process. These drawings are taking place over a wide range of geographies and administrative structures, methods of generating them going from computers to physical ball flyers. They're just too widespread for there to be any conspiracy involved, but too strangely, unexplainedly consistent and persistent I'm willing

hot cash lotto problems
HiHas anyone had any problems playing hot cash lotto? They seem to have a big problem with remembering favorite picks and if you are logged in or not. It will say you are but they think you're not. There is no pattern when ther will be a problem. They must think that you should write down your favorites just in case something happens. I don't have time to write them down just because they are to lazy to fix the program. I don't know how many times I have used a quick pick and lost those numbers

strange occourence
ok it's happening again, strange occourances are seemingly rampant nowadays around me. This evening {05/18/05} at around 7:30 pm while attempting to do some electrical work at a tractor dealership near where I live, I got locked out and could not do the work as originally planned earlier today. So I looked at my watch and saw it was around 7:30 and I decided I would drive into west virginia to buy some powerball tickets. It is a good hours drive from where I live to Mathias, West Va. I knew

Quick Picks Generator limit
Thanks for passing on the fourmilab site.C-Dude, judging from the results of your RNG test yesterday using random.org for your picks, I think I'll stick with them. As you said, how much of 100% randomness does one need for picking lottery numbers. For encryption purposes one might want to be closer to the 100% mark. In response to Bertil regarding random.org producing combos with repeat numbers, I just eliminate those sequences...which might actually contribute to the randomness of the numbe

Powerball Lottery States Vote to Change Game
Quote: Originally posted by tony95 on April 7, 2005The current odds of 120m-to-1 are depressing as it stands and odds of 146m-to-1 are ridiculous at best. I hope the powerball officials are not doing this just because the numbers were hit early a few times, because that can happen again at 146m-to-1, and if it does, are they going to raise them again? I don't think the public needs to h

Old Pick 3 method reviewed.
It has been said many many times that lottery systems don't work, maybe they won't give you the winning number with just 1 combo, but they should be designed to help you increase your chances of winning, that does not mean that you will win all of the time or very often, but maybe should win at least a little more often than just with plain quick picks. You should know that yes with some systems you will be able to some-what increase your chances of winning more often than without them.I didn

Winner of Feb. 12 Powerball lottery prize takes the cash option
A 55-year-old Louisiana lobbyist claimed her winnings Friday in last month's Powerball jackpot, sending her attorney to the lottery office to turn in the winning ticket and accept a lump sum payment worth $23 million.Vera Olds of Baton Rouge could have taken $40.6 million in 30 annual payments, but instead chose the $23 million lump sum, according to Kimberly Chopin, a state lottery spokeswoman.Chopin said Olds, a regular lottery player who bought $5 worth of Powerball tickets every Saturday, wi
