winoneday is in a pool, not sure how many tickets they buy per draw, but there are times when they don't win anything at all from the posts made. We have jackpot winners that bought only one ticket. Then we have like the Oregon guy that bought over $200 worth of tickets and won the jackpot. I think there is no right way to do it, just don't gamble with basic needs money

My pool of one has been buying a ticket at least every week. Since the changes to the game, I have gotten a X10 once and have won once as well. Keeping hope alive and only spending withing my budget. Yet to get my Tuesday ticket but I will - $98M after taxes ain't bad

I also believe that while multiple winners of the jackpot in the same drawing is definitely possible, that that's an outlier. It could happen but it very likely won't. And state lottery's know that. My guess is that they have it covered in the Official Rules, but they aren't thinking they'll have to resort using to that rule. I play PB for a second prize win and I buy the PowerPlay option. The 10X PowerPlay number is removed from play once the advertised jackpot hits $150 million. ($150,000 and down is when it's available) Also there is a pool of 43 PowerPlay balls that are used to select the PowerPlay number prior to each drawing. There are 24 2X balls, 13 3X balls, 3 4X balls, 2 5X balls and 1 10X ball (when the JP is $150,000 or less) That's why you don't see 10X very often, while most drawings are 2X. G5

This is a statistic I do not normally track so it is hard to say if it is a record but it certainly appears to be. Since July 9, 2025 (over 6 months ago), either Powerball or Mega Millions had a jackpot of at least $217 million. The Powerball jackpot was $217 million on July 9 and it rose to $1.79 billion and was won. Then Mega millions took over with a jackpot of $358 million and it rose to $983 million.
