PowerBall Drawing for 10/09/04
I know everyone else is thinking about 10/6 PB jackpot, but if there is no jackpot winner Wednesday the jackpot will grow to over $200M and many people will be forming pools at the last minute for Saturday drawings. In Ohio that means someone will have to drive out of state to buy those tickets. This is the time to draw up a contract of understanding, decided cost and size of the pool, and who will be in charge. Players should be able to see the numbers they are playing before the drawing. F

Online Lottery Pool

Each person in the group would spend $100 on behalf of the group. There are 52 weeks in a year and most major lottery have drawings twice a week, so any person wanting to play any lottery all year around have to be willing to take the time to travel to a local store twice a week and spend a dollar for

Lottery Pools - Your Thoughts??
A number of years ago when my Husband was still working for a company they had a Lottery Pool at his job and he and I were the ones that ran the pool.My husband was well liked and trustworthy so there was no problem getting people to join. Even with that.....I wrote up a set of written guidelines and rules to spell out exactly what would happen and tried to be fair to all concerned.....even ourselves. Each person had to sign a copy of these quidelines in their acceptance and acknowledgement

Lottery Pool - Let's play & win together
Hi Everyone,I have decided to start a Lottery Club/Pool for everyone who wants to play in a pool. There will be NO fees or charges outside of the price of the tickets that we chose to purchase. This Lottery pool will be created and set up based on the input of all the people that sign up for membership. I will create a website and the first page on this website will be a questionnaire so all members can select and vote how we want the lottery pool to be. Again, this is not a business so there wi

VD,I have been in pools before. Before I retired, I was it a pool at work and the biggest problem wasn't trust, because we made copies of the tickets and every member had a copy. Three times we matched 5 of 6 when Ohio paid more than it does now and the problem was who would collect and pay the taxes, because unless we won the jackpot, only one person could collect the winnings. We all were working in a skilled trade and getting a lot of overtime and chances were who ever collected the money

If you were part of a lottery Pool that won..
I also run a pool with 11 regular members. Since they are all members, they all contribute. I've had a few situations like you mentioned with people being out and so on. I've covered them and they've always paid me back. It's been pretty much the same group for several years so far so it's all good.
I did have a couple of members leave the pool after they retired. One gave me enough to stay in until the end of the year she retired and decided to drop out after that, while another retired a

Salon lottery winners settle dispute
Didn't this happen because there was no agreement?
I'm guessing verbal agreements were made in the past and having every member of a pool sign a 20 page legal waiver takes the fun out of forming a pool. If someone asked me to contribute $2 a drawing to join their pool, but I had to first sign a legal document in front of Notary, I'd probably say no thanks because nothing in the document would benefit me.
If you are still playing in a pool, it could happen again.
I was in a pool of 3

Lottery Post PB Pool
my plan for a website pool system would be that everyone buys their own tickets, they are all their own tickets and no claim or understanding to pay any other pool member anything is understood as being the overriding rule of the pool.
people would post their chosen or played numbers to the pool filter. and if those numbers are already played then it is high lighted and new numbers can be chosen. as more people enter, someone in the pool is likely to win but at no point are they obliged

Maryland Mega Millions winner already in pool dispute
I like #2... hadn't thought of that one.
Long ago I was involved in a pool; until we had one nitwit who claimed they would sue everyone/anyone from the pool who won independent of the pool because - simply since the pool was created 'it created a presumed sharing... everyone was flabergasted.
The pool dissolved immediately as we dumped all available 'pool' funds on the next lottery... and on repeat tickets with self-chosen numbers: 1,2,3,4,5 PB 2... and we had 18 of THAT particular ticket
