$200 MILLION: New Powerball delivers huge lottery jackpot
That is why I wouldn't give any amount of winnings away to family or charity until Uncle Obama is satisfied at tax time. Oops, did I say Obama?! I meant Uncle Sam! Sure would be a shame to think your immediate money problems are solved only to find you have big IRS problems the next year after having been a generous family and community person. Bet those family/friends/charitable orgs won't even know you if you say you need a few thousand back to pay your tax bill. Of course, it would be the foo

Rant About Greedy Non-Winners
Who is he to say they should do a show for him if he gives money to a charity? Just pay the band and let everybody give to their own charities as they see fit. I can understand perfectly the way Metallica felt about the deal. He's not their manager or booking agent, they don't work for him. If you want to meet them or have them perform for you, pay them. If you want to give to a charity, do it. But don't try to hold them hostage to some touchy-feely fantasy of yours. He's gotta be a lib.

Asset managers accused of fronting for real $254M Powerball winner

Asset managers accused of fronting for real $254M Powerball winner
It did seem unusual that an asset firm that won twice as much money in a lottery win than their workplace possesses would give most of that money away. I mean they could've used that money to increase their business tenfold and then have enough money to get really charitable. But then what do I know about how money works? It makes sense now but I fear that taking back their original plans to donate the money to charities is going to come back and bite them. The majority of the public will not ta

$203 MILLION: Powerball lottery jackpot heats up
Original Post by RJOh At my age my future is now and there are lots of things and services I would buy before I died if I had the money. Building a new homes, buying a new car or two every year, hiring people and services to maintain my home and me would help the local economy. Providing jobs for people instead of charity is the way I would do it. Excellent comment RJOh! I like your idea, but I'd still include charity where needed. There are so many animals in need, being dropped of

If you won the lottery what would you really do with the money?
Remember not 'if' but 'when' I win I will buy a nice comfortable house, travel, give some of it to my family and friends and give to charity.
