Annuity or Cash Value
just look at what happened with publishers clearing house. Here's a fun fact. Publisher's Clearing House wasn't running a Ponzi scheme, but they were apparently paying for prizes won in the past with the money they were making when a prize payment was due. There was no prize money set aside in a separate fund, let alone with a 3rd party that was responsible for making the payments independently of PCH. If a state defaults on an annuity it's going to be because there was some major financial

It only made it past 160 because interest rates are up. The cash value of 72.9 million is only 44.7% of the annuity value. The last time it got past 150 the advertised annuity of 157 had a cash value of an even 72 million.

Millionaire for Life multi-state lottery game to replace Cash4Life and Lucky for Life in February
* The annuity for this generally makes even less sense than with PB or MM, especially for anyone over 50ish. I'm over 50 and I already have plans to get a full body MRI from someplace like Ezra before I decide whether to take the annuity or cash. If I don't have any serious illnesses, it'll be annuity. People are often living into their 90's these days. My family isn't especially long lived but I take better care of myself than the rest of them do. https://ezra.com/pricing

Are you playing Mega Millions with the $5.00 per play?
Powerball's increase of $8.8 Million is pretty consistent with a Monday drawing. We like Powerball's transparency with Jackpot changes. Below we can see the change in Annuity, Cash and the Sales values all move fairly well with each other. Powerball doesn't give a false perception of Jackpot growth. Mega Millions, however, we can see the disconnect of the Annuity changes relative to the changes in Cash and the Sales for each drawing at the beginning of a Jackpot Run.

I know that this is technically not a lottery question, it's about PCH Sweepstakes bankruptcy .
Is there a way that the guy who bought a 30 year Mortgage when he was still getting PCH Annuity payments can cancel the mortgage saying something like, When I bought the 30 year Mortgage I was an active PCH winner. But now that PCH is bankrupt and I'm not going to get anymore PCH Annuity payments, I need to cancel my 30 year Mortgage. Mortgage Lenders should have cancellation choices in place because a lot of bad things can pop up suddenly where the homeowner can no longer pay for the mortgage s

if you're worried about a state lottery not being able to pay an annuity, choose the lump sum.

He said this left him financially ruined and he can't find a job as he hasn't worked in roughly 10 years and is an older man. He said he blew his PCH Annuity payments frivolously Poor decisions can lead to all sorts of problems. If he's lucky some of that frivolous spending resulted in assets that can be sold, such as more house than a guy with a modest fixed income (he probably qualifies for social security) needs, and Walmart might give him a job as a greeter. What do the wronged PCH

Annuity or Cash Value
What would be a reasonable cut off age where one says, heck no, am taking cash I don't think that whether or not you expect to live long enough to collect all of the payments is a good reason for making the choice between cash and annuity. Being older, within reason, could argue in favor of the annuity. If you're under 50 or 60 there are probably a lot more reasons you might want to spend a disproportionate amount of the jackpot in the first few years. If you're 70 and the cash value is $10
