$1.7 BILLION: Powerball jackpot juggernaut keeps rolling
The scandal involving Nick Perry and Edward Plevel refers to the 1980 Pennsylvania Lottery Daily Number fix, in which they and several others rigged a drawing to produce the number 666. The scheme involved weighting the lottery balls so that only certain numbers could be drawn. Key participants Nick Perry: The television announcer for the daily live drawings. He was identified by a grand jury as the mastermind of the plot. Edward Plevel: A former lottery district manager. He was involve

Are you playing Mega Millions with the $5.00 per play?
I would love it if the state didn't collect tax on lottery wins until the cash value is $20 million or higher. I've got only two minor issues about how lottery winnings are taxed. Extremely few players win large amounts more than once, so winning a large prize is almost always a once in a lifetime windfall, while most people who are paying anything in the top bracket have a high income every year. Let's say you win a (cash) prize of $20 million. Adding that to 40 years of earning 75k means

You Can't Lose If You Don't Play
I was talking with a retired college professor the other day and we got into the subejct of the lottery. When he told me that he's never played the lottery, I asked him, So you're too smart to play the lottery? He smiled and said, You can't lose if you don't play. I then pulled a dollar out of my wallet and said, Well i'm going to go lose this money. He then said the smartest thing of all when he replied, If you win remember me. Of course, I didn't win, as I haven't won in tw

Missouri: 8/1 - 8/31/2025
The upcoming draw is midday. So, looking at what's due midday. The 877 played midday! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I had focused and played the most due box single combo's, 389, and the 679! Yikes. OMGEEE! And the 700 hit midday. These percentages are different now, but, I still should be able to get a win. I lost a lot of money chasing, 389 and 679! I can't stop playing these 2 now. And, 234 for evening draw. Good Luck.

Powerball reaches $643 million: highest lottery jackpot of 2025
The annual increases in the annuity payment makes the proportion of lump sum to annuity smaller. Right, but you're reversing the cause and the effect. The graduated payments inflate the annuity, making it bigger than it would be with fixed payments. The flip side to that is that with fixed payments the proportion of annuity to lump sum is smaller. Every dollar in the prize pool (the cause) buys less annuity value (the effect). Of course, the lump sum is the real number since it's based

As HugeBens said, get a 35-cent back-to-school notebook at Kroger and try tracking this with an eye toward playing the trend. You may not win, but it will save you a lot of money and trouble chasing random repeats. That being said... I have to admit that the repeat, 721 , popped up in my reports today. I have a rule about repeats, I don't play them unless they have fallen just so in the past. So I checked 721 and sure enough... 08/09/2025,888, 721 | 09/02/2006,183, 721 08/10/2025

Are you playing Mega Millions with the $5.00 per play?
Yes, it's very telling the advertised jackpot increase is only $10 M after 8 rollovers. Do you understand how the game and its financing work? Both PB and MM have always started with artificially high jackpots that aren't fully funded, and never had more than the minimum increase until there's enough cash to fully fund the jackpot. The smaller jackpot of the old format was funded quickly. With the new format the jackpot would remain artificially high for more drawings with exactly the same
