First, the mere idea of going into a group pool with folks you never met or have no set provisions in writing is way shady. Anything saying that I have to *BUY* in to become a member just isnt my cup of tea. Had the poster said, contribute a set amount each play, that would have been more acceptable. How is it going up so much? The jackpot itself had to increase by $65 million. I thought this time the bonus pool would be really small. The bonus pool is in top of the $65 million needed to get the jackpot to this level so they are expecting to sell well over $100,000,000 tickets already. Brad

I don't believe your statement is accurate. Powerball rules state that only anything in excess of $25 million wagered for the next drawing goes to the bonus pool. So if $50 million were wagered, $25 million would go to the jackpot and the other $25 million would go to the bonus pool. Check it out.

It could be that sales were not as good as expected, and that they just had enough to fund the jackpot and nothing left over for the match 5 bonus pool.
