Are you playing Mega Millions with the $5.00 per play?
These huge jackpots seem to be a massive headache to manage, even with professionals helping you.
To be honest with you, it's people that make it a headache. All you need to do is take your lump sum and buy 10 year Treasury Notes. You get interest payments every six months for 10 years.
But when you go down the path of wanting to double and triple your money, that's where the headache starts. Your told to hire advisors, don't forget tax attorneys, oh and the CPA, and the financial plann

Fantasy 5 payouts are garbage now!
I dunno Todd. Hope you're right.
August 16th mid-day Florida Fantasy5 drawing saw two winners of $27,658. And that's BEFORE Federal income taxes.
Sad fact of life here in Florida... too many people living down here now. Traffic is akin to NY's Long Island year round. (used to be that way only during Snowbird season) I've asked many of my former Long Island friends living here now if they think traffic is like it was when they lived on The Island. Oh my God! exclaimed one friend. I thoug

Are you playing Mega Millions with the $5.00 per play?
The cash value is only running at 10% of what it would be when it was at $2.00 a line.
90% of all other cash jackpots were much higher by this time in the jackpot run.
This may be reflective of this poll where nearly 60% are not playing.
Has nothing to do with the price of the game. Cash v. Annuity value only depends on the expected return of US 30-yr bonds.
The lottery starts with the actual funds they have (=cash value) and then advertise the annuity multiplying the cash value

Mega Millions and Powerball Race
I tend to think that the Economic Impact Payments aka Stimulus Checks, played a huge role in growing big jackpots.
There was so much liquidity in the market and people gambled more.
Overall discretionary spending has reduced in the current environment that we are in.
Another reason that am thinking and this is not researched based, is the impact of the migrant community on sales. I believe immigrants spend on the lottery could be lower if they are saving more and faced with uncertain

New PA $30 Scratcher
I don't often play the $30 scratchers, maybe Christmas and birthday. Too often I recall looking down at a worthless piece of paper and thinking there goes another 30 bucks.
But i do pay attention to them out of curiosity and when PA just released a new one called $3 Million Mega Moolah, I took a look and checked out a couple youtube channels where they do scratchers pretty much every day. I quickly noticed something different about this one. Normally, the $30 scratchers come with five $3 mil

Are you playing Mega Millions with the $5.00 per play?
It's almost as if probability only suggests what's likely and not what will actually happen, isn't it?
I think when they sold us Faster growing jackpots they forgot to factor in what could actually happen i.e the jackpot being won sooner.
But again, everything is still in its infancy, so we can afford to give them the benefit of doubt.
Looking forward to a $3.5 billion jackpot.
I would take the annuity if I win that

Are you playing Mega Millions with the $5.00 per play?
Mega Millions is advertising bigger jackpots because they know that in the long run, this sort of thing won't happen.
But again, based on your very detailed analysis which I like, the jackpot has been won once, when statistically it was not to be won. Then it happened again.
What happens once, can happen twice, when it happens twice, heaven knows it can happen three times and on and on.
I think every time someone wins before it gets to 1 Billion the guys at MM get so mad

Mega Millions jackpot increases
They told us that the jackpot would grow faster with the matrix change. That doesn't seem to be the case.
The latest jackpot increase is $14MM.
The odds of winning the jackpot better than before.
I don't see how we are going to get bigger jackpots.
It is clear fewer people are playing.

Are you playing Mega Millions with the $5.00 per play?
before you tell us the MM is 'Measly' compare the MM and PB jackpots and consider taking a remedial math course.
The measly millions nonsense has been tired for a while already, and MM is growing at about the same per-drawing rate as PB. For their 18th drawings in the current run (as far as PB has gotten so far) PB is offering $115 million (in actual cash) while MM offered $120.4 million.
As for a remedial math course, it probably wouldn't help you, but if it did you might actually lea

Michigan Weekly Breakdown — Fantasy 5 & Lotto 47 Trend Report (April 4-9)
From some of the things I've read in the Lottery Master Guide book (LMG) authored by the late Gail Howard, on page 8 in the LMG it says:
How Jackpots Are Built
Lottery Officials Love when a Jackpot Rolls Over.
Because it increases lottery ticket sales for the next drawing. And it brings in more revenue for the State.
In the State of Michigan, from what I understand is... the lottery proceeds go into an Educational Fund to assist with the educational needs for grades K thru 12 in
