TX Lotto players - Lottery Commission's sneaky rule change
Well, we can hope they may change. I think they will see a drop in ticket sales as players realize that jackpots are not climbing as high as they once were. The game will just not be as compelling. My understanding is that previously 50% of ticket sales went into the prize pool. So it seems that they were overfunding the prize pool if ticket sales normally ranged from 1.2 to 1.9 million per draw (after deducting expenses). I'm not sure what the percentage is now, but it must be less that 50.

if you joined a pool, did you vet the other players for honesty before jumping in feet first?
Edit: When Powerball gets up to 100 million I will do a one time pool for that and people have to sign agreement for that also. I've noticed most do not even read it. Guess you could say if I wanted I could put in there, Pool manager (myself) keeps 75% of winnings Nah, I would never do that to my coworkers. ** Thank you for your clarification on the above chmuckatelly- as you can tell ALL members of the LP forum are ethical to the core, we would not like you to spook us with dis

if you joined a pool, did you vet the other players for honesty before jumping in feet first?
PS: One guy in the pool asked me Why are you doing all of this? We trust you. (In the regular pool, I just photocopy the front of all the tickets and hand them out because I keep all tickets in my possession.) I told him it was because the group was aware of the fact that I had bought my own personal tickets, and that they could be sure if I won on one of those, that I had not pulled a switcharoo by switching my group ticket with one of my personal tickets. (It was physically impossible for

Good Morning Everyone! Happy Saturday! I am new to LP and this is only my second post to LP, however I thought I would share how our office handles our lottery pool. We have one person to collect the money and either they go get the tickets or someone else from the office gets the ticket. When they come back they make a copy of all the tickets and the names who provided the money and how much and it is distributed to all the people who play. This way if you bought a separate ticket for the lo

The 80-20 Rule and the Lottery
Yeah, I've seen it used in many examples, sully. Things like: Iin any sales force 20% of the sales people bring in 80% of the sales. In an apartment complex with a pool 20% of the residents use the pool 80% of the time.

Why do Quick Picks that I get either give me a bunch of numbers in a row or numbers from last draw?
I've had great luck with quick picks in the past, so I don't write them off but also notice what you say here. I've had $5 blocks of quick picks where many of the numbers are the same....you get 3 or 4 of the same number combinations split between 2 or 3 lines...a few times I've noticed the SAME number on 3 or 4 of the lines of 5 plays. Odd. They say it's totally random and maybe they are telling the truth but what is their definition of random when it comes to the quick

Lawmakers going after unclaimed lottery money
Unclaimed lottery funds should be returned to the lottery pool it is unclaimed from. Something like pick 3 and 4 unclaimed funds could be returned in bonus payouts until used up. Scratchers go back to maybe reduced ticket cost. pick 5 and up prizes go back into that pool. Return it back to the lottery players.

Hair stylists spar over $9.5M Hoosier Lotto jackpot
If you go back to the original story you will notice that it was not Christina Shaw that they quoted. It was someone else that was buying tickets for a different pool that said she made copies and distrubed them. In this case that did not happen we have a person who purchased a ticket at the same time at the same place. How do you deteremine that it is her ticket and not the groups? One for the pool . . . one for me . . . Yes, if she had made copies and passed them out before it could have be

Part of a Pool?
In Az we have a company PowerPick, that just does lottery pools. Only for Az state residents. They buy the tickets and keep the members updated. I belong to a 6 week pool for Powerball, MegaMillion and our local Pick (6/44). they list all the numbers to be played on what dates for the next 6 weeks and I get a printout in advance. So far I was in a pool of 10 that won a Pick 5 and we won $247,000. once. Minimum wins in the big games, but all the cash is divided up and we can add to our pa

Lotto System Development Simplified
The cause generating a Momentary trend could be many factors, but am not concerned. What am concerned is the transitional data(could last a certain time, remember my life span is short with regard to large matrix odds). Like I said, stats and probabilty may seem mutually inclusive , but two completely different concepts. Stats deals with data(physical and dynamic), probability is more of inference , base on a data(Physical and dynamic).Since probability is a conditonal concept, i have the pleasu
