$200M Powerball lottery jackpot won by N.Y. Costco workers
So for your lottery pool, you get two tickets and Bullwinkle gets one? No wonder your last pool went under with all the money missing. Maybe Bullwinkle ate it!

Lottery Groups
I run 3 lottery pools made up of current and former co-workers, family, friends, and even a couple of people from Lottery Post. Every week, I play QP's for the game that has the biggest jackpot; when both MM and PB have large jackpots, I buy tickets for both instead of purchasing the bonus play. I run another little pool that plays whenever a jackpot gets high. Since all of us are ready to quit our jobs, or at least go part time at them, the definition of high is less than it used to be. Backtesting and Simulating Lottery Systems
I like having the number pool because it allows me to simulate two different styles of play. (A)It's like having all the numbers in a sack and pulling out 5 or 6 at a time until they're all gone thus allowing me to nearly play all the numbers or (B) pulling out 5 or 6 at a time, recording them and throwing them back into the sack and picking again much as a regular drawing where the previous picks have no effect on the latest pick. It all depends on my style of playing and I don't have to rewrit

If you had 10 bucks to bet...
Bottom line... Would you rather throw a 100 foot diameter net into a pool with 50 fish once, or would you rather throw a net with a diameter of 10 feet into the same pool ten separate times? I think I would rather throw the 100 foot diameter net into the water once. If you've ever seen shows on the Discovery channel that show enviornmentalist type folks explode nets over an area on the beach where certain birds feed and are caught for research, they use large nets, not small ones.

Should lottery winners share with colleagues?
This story again! now it's FIVE [5] and not just the one guy? .. c'mon!!!! UNLESS SOMEONE WHO REGULARY PLAYS WAS NOT AT WORK AND WAS CALLED AND TOLD OF THE POOL BEFOREHAND AND THEY SAID, 'PLEASE INCLUDE ME, I WILL GIVE MY MONEY WHEN I COME BACK' - THEY ARE NOT PART OF THE POOL - i've played with pools, then ditched them to do my own thing, then joined another group, then left and went somewhere else .. just because you played with certain people, once, twice, hell even 432,309 times DOES NOT mea

Should lottery winners share with colleagues?
When I was running the office lottery pool, I took an event such as this into account. In the agreement which I drew up, I specified that if the player had joined into the money pool on the previous drawing, and did not make the deadline for the current drawing, they had until the date of the following drawing to pay for that drawing that was missed. This was done in case of illness, injury, or just plain forgetfulness. It was also done for situations such as the one facing the New York Seven. I

Lottery's biggest loser: Albany man passed on office pool that won $319M jackpot
On all those Lottery Changed My Life shows the person has to prove that he was a regular participant in the lottery pool and he is able to receive a portion of the winnings. I think he has a case if they've kept meticulous records. My day is coming I don't care if it's in an office pool or alone!!! I am also tired of hearing the Jack Whittaker story...

Worker skips office Mega pool, loses share of $319M
There are plenty of people with that view, even if there aren't many of them here. I can understand people not particularly believing that a butterfly flapping its wings actually causes a change the weather half-way around the world, but I really don't understand why people think that when one thing does change certain things will still happen exactly the same way, unless they think it's fate. If that's the case the guy who wasn't in the pool couldn't possibly have won, anyway. If it's not fa

Worker skips office Mega pool, loses share of $319M
The problem with that, which someone pointed out on the first page, is there were other people that were sometimes in the pool that didn't put in there money this time either. If they shared with him they would be easy targets of everyone else who didn't put money in but feel like they deserve money since this guy got some. If it was just this guy, I would consider adding him as a member of the group, but I don't believe that is the case. This is one reason I wouldn't want to be in a
