Worker skips office Mega pool, loses share of $319M
If I was the judge I wouldn't give him a cut because of that, of course I've never said they should give him a cut. His actions were a part of a longer list of things that happened that day that led to the pool winning the jackpot. If they gave him a cut just for being a part of their life that day they would need to give a cut to other drivers and possibly other customers in the store.
My first post wasn't to try and say he deserves money for being a cause of them winning, just that you neve

Hi Everyone...Need help with our Lottery Club in Florida
I run a pool at my office and every 2 weeks(payday), the 13 members put in $4 and I buy a mix of Powerball and Louisiana Lotto tickets. I roll back small prizes into the pool for more tickets. Last year with the Millionaire Raffle going on, we won $10 on one round and I polled the membership to see if they wanted to buy a raffle ticket and the majority said yes. If we win enough this time, I'll do another poll and do the same if the majority agrees.
The numbers I use are a combination of n

How would you design a game so more people win?
Perhaps a better way to do it would be something like PB's bonus pool. At some point money that would normally go to the jackpot would be put in the 2nd place prize pool instead. It could even be done in such a way that for jackpots beyond a certain size the 2nd place prize could pay the same as the jackpot, with something left over to put in the next drawing.
That might actually be a workable game. Not having the enormous jackpot would eliminate the enormous sales that go with it, but having

Christmastime battle over lottery jackpot
Dayum all of this over $200,000 when they would each be taking home $1.1 Mil anyways (minus taxes)? Come on guys stop being so greedy! How would they feel if it was them that missed that one draw. You know good and well they would each expect a winning cut.
I have done pools with my neighbors and I was basically the manager of the pool so to speak. If someone couldnt make it I would still include them if they were a regular pool player and if they said they wanted to pitch in, but couldn

Lottery Pool Glitch
I basically took your advice, but offered some additional options. In addition to the extra Lotto numbers, I also offered Easy 5 numbers or to charge 50 cents less. I don't have all the votes in yet, but it looks like we might get extra lotto numbers. Fortunately, nobody was upset about it at all and understood it was an honest mistake on my part. During the last few years I've been running this pool, Chirstmas hasn't been on a Saturday, so I didn't even think about it.
Looks like everythi

Ontario lottery players finally get their share of jackpot
I can honestly say, I Have NEVER had one thought about belonging to or joining a lottery Pool with anyone (including family) at anytime in my life since I have been able to play the lottery!
So with that said, I couldn't ever get upset or have second thoughts about any money from their win being shared with me!
I don't pool my money with them, I don't get a share; plain and simple!

Quick Picks on either Power Ball or Mega Million
Whenever I get a lottery pool together I usually use a wheel since I believe it's gives me better odds of winning. Now the other day my husband ran and just got quick picks for the Power Ball since him and the guys got a small pool together.
So I was looking at the tickets and I couldn't believe how the machine spit out the numbers. There were many duplicates of numbers, and even the Power Ball number had a bunch of duplicates. Does anyone know why or how that happens? It almost feels like w

Reminder: Lottery Changed my life tonight-Thursday
PERDUE,
Yeah..the woman left her husband the same day she joined the lottery pool. The things was, according to the show, she had just moved out, they weren't divorced yet, so the court said half of what she won was his.
The co-worker was asked if he wanted to play for that drawing and said no. Then when they won he wanted in, but they had two years of documentation to back them up, showing he wasn't a regular player. This seems to be a common thing among people who are asked to play and s
