Why do so many in CA win powerball?
In 2023 the 2 billion dollar jackpots were won in California, this year the last two jackpots out of 4 have been won in CA. Does anyone have the number tickets bought compared in other states? I'm assuming more people play in CA but also wondering how it compares to megamillions, MM sees to have jackpot winners in lots of different states, not as often in CA.

Secrets of a lottery lawyer-Kurt Panouses interview
Actually having two games and letting the players pick may be worse right now. As happens so often, I think this is another case of players somehow failing to understand that the point of a lottery is to raise revenue for the entity that runs the lottery. Maybe MUSL could collect a modest fee from the UK for licensing the Powerball name, but the real money is from selling tickets. Their obvious goal is to gain players so that jackpots will grow more rapidly, because sales are better whe

Are you playing Mega Millions with the $5.00 per play?
Perhaps the Measly Millions jackpot will get more traction at the Half Billion mark ??? ...........Course, how long will it take to get to that point ?? 5 more draws ?? 6?? I was curious on previous draws, so I went back into the history books and I couldn't seem find a spot where the increases after 20 + rollovers triggered a 10 - 20% reduction on the next draw. Interesting tactics MUSL but I am failing to follow that logic of how that works out. After all, you did state in your press rele

US Powerball multi-state lottery game expanding to the UK
Right? I was thinking of this. Americans cannot participate any other foreign countries lottery games unless they are visiting the country . Will we be able to play the UK's National lottery ? Or Canada's Lotto Max? Or Australia's Powerball ? No. We can't even nationally play a lottery game through an app like they can with the Euromillions. It seems the Powerball keeps chasing growth despite a of ticket sales. Instead of asking why ticket sales are declining they think price increase or mo

Answer Me This...
A couple of years ago, The Florida Lottery added a midday drawing ... these days the midday drawing offers ... What happened to jackpots immediately after they added the midday drawings? You seem to be telling us what the jackpots were before the change and what the jackpots are a couple of years later. Lottery sales for games that are exactly the same as they were a few years ago are also down. Declining sales is why MM costs $5 now, and likely why FL added midday drawings. It's als

Idaho Lottery alerts retailers to possible bulk buying attempt over $877,800 Idaho Cash jackpot
The difference between Las Vegas casino games and rolling lottery jackpots is that casinos will quickly kick you out for winning too much *house money*. They don't care as much if you win too much *player money*. They still make money on every bet placed on progressive jackpots no matter how big it gets. Lottery rules make it almost impossible to win too much house money. But every single rolling jackpot game has the potential to turn a ticket from a gamble into an investment, and investors

Are you playing Mega Millions with the $5.00 per play?
https://lite.cnn.com/2025/12/13/business/powerball-billion-dollar-jackpot-mega-millions Sounds to me like the author doesn't know much about how lotteries work or appreciate that the results of just 3 or 4 jackpot runs may not be representative. The headline screams that he's missing the clue that even if PB sales were up (they're not) due to MM's price increase it's still probability that results in billion jackpots. The average PB jackpot should have a cash value of about $195 million

Are you playing Mega Millions with the $5.00 per play?
Lets face it, you know Mega Millions is now increasing their revenue with the jackpot at $800 million, For the same advertised jackpot MM's revenue per drawing at $5 per ticket dropped below the revenue per drawing at $2 per ticket a few drawings back. Revenue for Saturday's $800 million jackpot was a hair under 70% of the revenue for the last $800 million jackpot in August '24. Total revenue since the price increase is about 1% more than for the same time period in 2024, while revenue

Lottery intends to provide larger jackpots by reducing chances of winning By Kate Northrop The New Jersey Lottery announced last week that the odds of winning the Fast Play Progressive jackpot will decrease to allow for larger advertised jackpots. Fast Play Progressive jackpots will be harder to win in New Jersey, but Lottery officials say that the change will enhance the playing experience. As of Tuesday, July 1, the odds of winning the Fast Play Progressive jackpot lowered fro

Are you playing Mega Millions with the $5.00 per play?
is anyone going to bother with Mega Millions tonight? Even without PB being a bit more than 3 times as big MM is still well shy of my entry point, given the price and odds. I'm thinking some time in October is when I'll get in the game, assuming it's still rolling (and it probably will be). Under the prior ticket pricing structure I would have purchased my usual 1 ticket per drawing. Sorry to tell you but: They. Don't. Care. No tickets for me under any circumstances but am cu
