It looks as if the $5.00 MM ticket is doing poorly.
While there are games that cost more than $5..... $10 scratchers, $20 scratchers, $50 scratchers, $20 raffle tickets, etc., the difference is that in those games, you have a vastly higher chance of winning a large amount of money.
The problem with the new $5 MM is that they didn't change much of anything. It includes the multiplier for lower prizes (instead of giving you a choice to pay the extra $1). They included a 10X possibility but re-arranged the other multiplier odds to give you preci

Money and the Crime of Kidnaping
Like so many people in The USA, I've been closely following the national news kidnapping story coming out of Arizona. I saw one particular former detective being interviewed about the Ring Doorbell video that's been shown so many times.
The Detective said Most criminals think they are smarter than anybody else, but this guy might be a little different in that he actually is smart. While he probably is smart, he's not smarter than The FBI criminalist's trying to catch him.
And there you

Are you playing Mega Millions with the $5.00 per play?
They had to have cheated.
Don't be ridiculous. It's so easy to win there's no reason to cheat even if you could.
One complaint would justify being upset with the price increase, a constant complaint is overkill.
You know that there are two of you that are making your complaint over and over, right?
I could understand someone like Elon Musk calling $10 million measly
I don't imagine anyone here actually thinks any of the advertised jackpots are chump change, but so far I do

Mega Millions and Powerball Race
The supported jackpot is $69.7 million whereas in the previous run, the supported jackpot was $66.9 million.
And the cash value is now 41.9 vs 39.9. The annuity value is 4.19% higher than in the previous run, but cash value, which is a direct measurement of sales is 4.77% higher. That may be an indication that as players buy in when the jackpot gets bigger the $5 price becomes something they're okay with at lower jackpot levels, too.
Or it might just be because very high jackpots tend t

Are you playing Mega Millions with the $5.00 per play?
Here are some possibilities about what's coming.
It takes 201 million tickets to reach a 50% chance of getting a winner. We obviously can't get a winner in any of the previous drawings, so from this point there's a 50% chance that the cash value will reach about $668 million. At the current interest rate that would be an advertised annuity of $1.44 billion.
On average it takes 292.47 million tickets to produce each winner, so once the cash value has reached $391.7 million (tonight's valu

Are you playing Mega Millions with the $5.00 per play?
We went back and looked at both Powerball Mega Millions during the period of when they both had starting jackpots of $20 Million and $2.00 per Line.
In addition, we correctly scaled the time frames by which each performs their draws on a weekly interval.
Below is Powerball's $20M / $2.00 run and we can see it breaks the Billion Dollar Barrier on average in its 13 th week of draws.
Below is Mega Millions' previous $20M / $2.00 run and we can see it breaks the Billion Do

I'm not sure what numbers from the Texas spreadsheets you used in your previous post to determine the chance of a roll but what do you think are the chances we see another 2 billion jackpot?
There's a worksheet for every drawing, and you'll find a link to it on the page that shows the current advertised jackpot. Somewhere around noon on the day of the drawing (or Friday for Saturday's PB jackpot) they add the next jackpot if it rolls.

Texas: 6/1 - 6/30/2025
These Texas lawmakers are making it hard for players to play and creating laws that players don't want, as if there will be no consequences and players will just accept it.
Games like the Pick 3 4 have nothing to do with people buying jackpots which is what started this whole mess. All they had to do was create a rule limiting the number of combos you can buy in jackpot games only. I care more about their results than their words. Their results show they don't care about what TX players want

It's official bulk lottery ticket purchases are illegal in Maine, making it the latest state to adopt laws in defense against organized groups aiming to buy jackpots.
The Maine Lottery has adopted new rules to ban bulk ticket purchases for any of its games.
