Seeing patterns where none exist
Your a lost cause Thomas. You would have said the same thing if I hit today.I would say the same if I were you and did't believe in anything. When I do hit, you will say the same thing and I knew that going in. So this means nothing to someone who does not believe in probabilities. How can I prove I was playing in the right half of the pool and not the intire pool. This wasn't my idea and I know that because it's stupid. If anyone thought they could make their point this way they are going to be

Best way of picking PB numbers
To Cash,If you consider the players that didn't win the MA lotteries lucky then the non-player are more lucky, because they didn't win and it costed them nothing. To Gary,If you are planning to wait until the jackpot size reach a certain amount, you have time to play both methods on paper and evaluate them before you actully play. A few years back, before I retired, some of my co-workers and I did the same thing quitely because some of them didn't want their wives to know how much we were spendi

New Library Definition - Cash Option
Cash OptionAlso, Lump-Sum OptionOne of the two typical ways a lottery prize is paid (the other being Annuity). When a lottery prize is paid with the Cash Option, the winner receives one large payment from the lottery, usually within a few weeks of redeeming the winning ticket. Applicable taxes are normally withheld prior to the payment, although the winner may be responsible for additional taxes after receiving the prize, depending upon their situation.Although most government lotteries allow th

who like the cash 5 bonus?
Quote: Originally posted by Bug on December 26, 2002 Was the match 5 bonus even implemented? I am not even sure what a record level is for the PowerBall, but it seems they aren't going to get alot of use out of this match 5 plan? Have they ever had a match 5 draw? Bug,No the Match 5 Bonus was not in effect last night. It is only in effect when the jackpot goes over the previous Powerball record. The previous Powerball record was $295.7 Mil. If you add $25 Mil (the cap) to that you get $320.7 Mil

New Powerball info available
On the powerball website, it says that among the new rules:Power Play Option Drops The 1 But if the power play multiplies your winnings if you get the power play number right, what is the point of paying an extra amount for power play 1 if any amount multiplied by 1 is that same amount anyway? Not only that but the New Match 5 feature is created where the prize pool is divided among those who match 5 numbers. But in order to receive a share of the prize pool, can ANY 5 numbers be matched (4 wh

New Powerball info available
CashONLY: I don't necessarily agree with your position that Powerball has better low-tier prizes. They are certainly different, but not better. You can say that technically, this prize is better than that, but the bottom line is that people play the game to win the jackpot, not $2 or $3.Powerball is attempting to increase the perceived size of its jackpot by raising the annuity period. This has the direct effect of LOWERING the cash value. Mega Millions, on the other hand, always has a great

Keeping it quiet
Both of his ex-wifes would probably claim that his winning QUICK PICK numbers were exactly (number by number) the numbers that his ex-wifes asked him to play for them. He just failed to deliver the tickets to them because he's a 'worthless bum'. Now if I won just $2,000,000 on the Illinois Lotto, it would take my worthless brother and sister about 30 seconds to feel that they are both entitles $100,000 each year for life. After all, I'm their brother, what could I ever do with all that extra mon

Has anyone tried a Lottery Pool?
Just wanted to let you know that I started a lottery pool that consists of a mixture of friends/coworkers and relatives. We play the Mega Millions Lottery and just completed our second drawing. I've made up a Constitution that spells out the lottery pool rules. So far ideas keep popping up so I made an amendment to it and will probably make another change here shortly. I've contacted IRS about procedures and what forms are needed to be completed if we should be so lucky to hit the jackpot. We pl
