What Is The Size of The Lottey Playing Public in The USA?
According to Google, the population of The United States is 333.3 million. (2022) But that 333.3 million includes children under the age of 18 years who legally cannot buy lottery tickets. My question is what is the number of people in The USA that legally and regularly buy lottery tickets? (Both online games and scratchers) There must be a quality estimate somewhere. I suppose Google might reveal that number, but I didn't search for it. G5

Proposed changes to Mega Millions game will raise ticket price to $5
I have a fixed budget for lottery tickets, and I've adjusted my play pattern several times as the games have changed. With this change, there will no longer be room for MM in my budget.

N.J. Lottery retailer says $221M Powerball winner is bus driver who spends $60 a day on tickets
I wondered this too. Maybe the clerk meant to say $60 a day for every day he purchases lottery tickets? As in $60 a week if he only plays once per week?

Anyone care to guess
Virginia's real problem* was lost when the topic changed to how many stores people can own. *Many of the stores selling lottery tickets had skill gaming machines and apparently they profited much more than the average 5% the lottery pays. A new law made the machines illegal.

How do you deal with lottery losses?
This is quite a list of questions; I will try and respond to each and hopefully help a soul out there. Q. How do you deal with lottery losses? Ans. I treat the lottery the same way I treat my house, car, property etc. insurance. I pay for the insurance so that in case something happens, say to my car, the insurance will cater for it. I know very well that there is a high possibility that nothing will happen to my property, but I still pay for the insurance. I don t consider the insurance

What Is The Size of The Lottey Playing Public in The USA?
Doubt you'll ever get an exact figure, but there is per-capita data and some states show it in their annual report. The report shows less than 25% play daily, weekly or monthly. IMO, if everyone could be polled, it would probably show an even smaller percentage of people are buying the majority of lottery tickets. Very interesting read!

California Lottery announces group as winners of historic $1.765 billion Powerball jackpot
Had forgot all about this. Congratulations on their huge win. Too bad they didn't release the numbers of players. Probably 15 or more years ago had printed off their multi-page instructions of what to do with big winning lottery tickets. If memory serves me correctly they will cut up to 50 separate checks. I love that idea and glad this state will too, though they never said how many checks would be cut here!
