Minnesota top pull-tab state
Imagine that every fruitless pull of a casino's slot machine produced a colorful bit of trash and you get an idea of how the garbage bins at American Legion Post 1776 overflow on a good night.Last year $6.4 million worth of pull-tabs were sold from this tidy metal-clad hall -- tops in a state that is tops in the nation -- allowing Post 1776 to pass a profit of $246,000 on to hundreds of schools, sports programs and charities.Though they're sold without the glamor of Las Vegas or the marketing bu

online lottery playing
This is a snippet of a piece I read on online gambling:------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ It's currently a very gray area...Some officials say it's against the law to wager over the Internet or telephone. Others say the illegal part is the gambling operation itself, if it's set up on U.S. soil -- which is why Web sites operate offshore in places such as the Caribbean, Latin America and Australia. An

One in a Mega million
Tonight at 11, millions of people across the country will hold their breath and allow themselves to imagine their biggest dreams coming true - if only for a few seconds. And when it is all over, a huge chunk of them will sigh and think, I knew that was dumb idea. But a few of them might actually have to pinch themselves and call an accountant if a piece of the Mega Millions pie is theirs. That is why so many people are playing the Mega Millions Jackpot today. The fact that the jackpot is $177 m

New York Lottery changes Take 5 game to twice-daily drawings
I don't bet on sports or races. They said that there is nice money. I looked at the played soccer-bets and the payouts were awful. Nobody won on it, it mostly was betting for a certain team with a certain score again and again. You could also bet on who is the next president of the USA. I bet Trump, won a bit, just played little money for the fun of it. There were not many different bets available. For the USA I heard of that remote viewing team winning big money on the superball(?). Here many p

When was Pick3 & Pick4 Invented and by who...
II. History of Gambling in the United States Examining the history of gambling in North America suggests important conclusions that are useful today in considering policies related to gambling. The United States has had a long history of allowing some forms of legal gambling and a degree of tolerance of illegal gambling. Societal tolerance and acceptance of legal gambling can change rapidly. Scandals and political control by gaming interests have led to backlashes which result

How many on-line players are here?
BobP Like I said, more power to you. I worked with guys in Vegas who were in Vegas simply because the sports books demanded cash, they themselves knew bets over the phone got them in trouble. And Monday night as the worst, (the bookies best night by the way) because everyone is trying to make up for Sundays losses. The guy betting $55 on Sunday games is now betting a nickel ($500) on Monday trying to catch up. People like to think this won't happen with lotto or online but talk

Let's Create Some Proposed Proposition Bets
If you played a number 'straight' it would pay a lot more, a +/- range of 10 would be considered playing the field and not pay near as much. Every book has a formula that x number of dollars moves the line a half a point or a point the opposite way, that's how they 'balance' the books. If the O/U for the day was 400, and money started coming in on the Over, they would adjust the line to make the under more attractive. In re; to lotteries, they would adjust the payouts probably.

Besides the lotto what is your game of choice ?
Lottery is it for me now. If I still lived in Nevada I'd bet baseball. Baseball doesn't work on point spreads, the bets are made on a money line - say Baltimore is +1.25 against NY. There'a a way of betting called a money line parlay, if you pick the right two or three dogs (underdogs) you can get somes weet payoffs off of $10 and $15 bets. If you had three + 1.25 dogs for a $10 bet you'd get: 10 X 1.25 + = 22.50 X 1.25 = 50.62 X 1.25 = 63.28 = a total of $113.90 or $113 and down fro

Oregon Lottery contributions critical to athletic department
The University of Oregon athletic department likes to say it is self-sufficient. However, true self-sufficiency would mean receiving no outside help from other organizations. The department is almost self-sufficient. It hasn't received any money from the University's general fund since 2003, so it is self-sufficient from the institution. In reality, the University and the other colleges in the state of Oregon gets a little bit of help from an unlikely source: the Oregon Lottery. Since 1990
