Do you believe the lottery is 100% honest in everything it does?
People are the same everywhere more or less, kind of. Almost no matter who they work for and what they do, of course not exactly, but in general. People are people, some of those who handle, money and or lottery tickets will steal, also those who handle merchandise and or process material and or money transactions. About the lottery draws, lower ranking employees are not so much the ones that we should worry about as they do what they are told most of the time those who have control

Do you tip your cashier when you win?
I wouldn't tip the cashier for selling me a ticket, they are paid by the manager of the store to sell tickets and anything else. If I happened to win a large prize the lottery corporation not myself, would give them a seller's fee as stated in the lottery corporation information for selling the winning ticket,. Also, any clerk that looks for a tip from you, is breaking the rules of the store.. The clerks are dishonest and greedy to look for any money from customers.. I would shop

Store clerk judging you.
Oh everyone I wait on gets service.. Just not tips... Only the tippers get the tips.. Why would I give tips to the nontippers.. That would be crazy.. Some clerks may even keep the tips to themselves and play what is due to hit and let someone else get it ripe for them.. That is dishonest.. I dont scratch on the job.. (However, I am not an everyday scratcher.. they are for suckers to play daily.. I only play 2-3 times a month..

N.C. store clerk accused of stealing woman's winning lottery ticket
DD, that makes sense! In Florida there is a Race For Cash game. I think if you buy 5 lottery numbers you automatically get a voucher, but I've heard the sound of a race car revving up coming out of the terminal. So if they can program that into the system, they certainly can announce a winning or losing scratch card. I've watched the clerks scan tickets and the amount won is shown in the screen. I think a dishonest clerk could fool a customer by switching tickets. A customer should always as

Giving Tips.
I think clerks who give out tips on scratch-offs should be fired and they should not be allowed to purchase scratch-offs from the store they work. It makes it a tampered with game for others. It's not fair and it's cheating. The clerks and the people who tip them get the winning tickets. That's why I don't buy scratch-offs. They get stepped on. There was a lottery employee who told a friend where a winning million dollar scratch-off was and that person drove to that city, bought the e

Would you ever pretend to be LO after being scammed by Clerk?
I once had a next door neighbor, Freddie, who happened to be a detective in the police department in the town I lived in. I saw his name in a local newspaper story about him apprehending a petty thief. A couple of days later Freddie was mowing his lawn so I wandered over to his yard and congratulated him for having caught the guy. Freddie told me that the guy he arrested was Just like all the other idiots I track down and arrest . By that statement he said meant They get in trouble with the

Former MD Lottery employee pleads guilty of stealing tickets, cashing winners
$67,000 in winnings were supposed to go to honest people who BUY not STEAL the tickets for a chance to win. Scratch-offs are already hard enough to win but when ya got someone stealing winning tickets it doesnt make it any easier. It's a shame because if it's going on there, it's going on in a lot of other places too. I walk into certain stores and sometimes observe the lottery clerks scratching away at tickets. There is no way for me to tell if they have bought the tickets or not, so I some

Iowa Lottery requires winners to sign tickets
I agree with you, since that certainly could happen if someone doesn't ask for a receipt. I got a receipt when I won $72.50 in January, but I wasn't asked to sign the ticket. I guess it would also prevent a clerk or store owner from claiming a big prize at the lottery office, although when my tickets are scanned at Publix, I can see the total due. Still, if everyone would just check the newspaper, call the lottery or, if they use the internet, check their tickets online, there wouldn't be any th

Bizarr3
Have you ever discarded a winning scratcher unintentionally, or suspect this has ever happened to you? Or do you feel like there was ever the opportunity for a dishonest clerk to pull a fast one on you? One time I had a clerk toss one of my $5 winners at a Kangaroo gas station. She was very salty, and unwilling to double check. I never returned to this location again. Publix typically does a much better job in being transparent, and scanning the winners one at a time. I've seen s
