I was just stating that with such a large amount of money, investments aren't needed to be able to live on it for the rest of your life. Some investments would still probably be a good idea. I would be happy with a couple of million spread across a few bank accounts and invest the rest in something very stable like bonds and term deposits. I think the enormous demand for Monday's drawing just overloaded the computer system, and it took more time than normal to verify everything with their security protocol in place. People weren't just buying a few quick picks, they were buying 100's, and maybe 1,000's of them at a single transaction. That overloaded the system. I have always felt that a ATM is dangerous for compulsive gamblers. In the stores, there's lines at the ATM, and at the counter to buy the tickets.
